March 2014[edit]

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Sega may have broken the syntax by modifying 2 "[]"s and 2 "{}"s likely mistaking one for another. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
  • 2001|accessdate=September 20, 2009}}</ref> However, arcade development would continue unaffected.[[Citation needed}} Sega, along with their many software studios, are known for multi-million-selling game franchises

Again, welcome! --David Biddulph (talk) 08:49, 10 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

One specific bit of advice is to read Help:Minor edit, as I think that some of the edits which you have marked as minor probably aren't. --David Biddulph (talk) 08:59, 10 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for March 13[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Nuon (DVD technology), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bedazzled (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Well[edit]

My first article was deleted....:( But it's the same as Coby Electronics so maybe I can point that out to the deleting user. AustralianPope (talk) 16:03, 14 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Reply[edit]

Hi, thanks for message. I deleted your article because

  • it did not provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. Although you gave references, two were to the company itself, one was a site that can be edited by the company, one was just pure spam, a sales page for your products. None were genuine high-quality independent sources. I also couldn't see any information that would confirm that the company met the notability criteria above.
  • it was written in a promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. Examples of unsourced claims presented as fact include: at affordable prices... popular retailer... Also, the "Company profile" is nothing of the sort in any meaningful sense, it's just more spam at the cutting edge of industry trends... company philosophy that focuses on quality and customer service above all else, we work with companies that span the globe... offering them the latest consumer electronics available.
  • Apart from the spammy introduction and spammy company profile, all the rest is a spammy list of products. You don't see fit to give any information about the company itself. How many employees? Turnover? Profits? Has the company ever received negative publicity? Who are its competitors?
  • You have an obvious conflict of interest when it comes to editing articles about this subject. If, after reading the information about notability linked above, you still believe that your organisation is notable enough for a Wikipedia article (and that there is significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources), you could, if you wish, post a request at Wikipedia:Requested articles for the article to be created. See also Wikipedia:Best practices for editors with conflicts of interest.

Jimfbleak - talk to me? 16:29, 14 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies if I incorrectly assumed that you worked for or represented the company. The rest of my comments stand. The fact that there are other articles doesn't help you, either they meet our requirements or they should be deleted too. Anyway, i see that you have been blocked, which suggests that your activities may not have been entirely above board, COI or not Jimfbleak - talk to me? 07:14, 15 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
