A few tips[edit]

  • You cant link external images in an article, they have to be uploaded to Wikipedia first.
  • Your username may be a problem: Wikipedia editors are encouraged to choose a username that reflects them as a person, not a product they are associated with or a company they work for. If you change a username you will have a lot less trouble getting the page to be created.
  • A good article should have reliable third-party references. Linking to the book itself isn't wrong, but it may leave some people unsure that the article youre trying to create is really reliable and not promotional material. Soap 14:43, 3 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

April 2010[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, the username you have chosen seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of a group, company or website.

There are two issues with this:

  1. You may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, you must exercise great caution when editing on topics related to your organization.
  2. Your account cannot represent a group of people. You may wish to create a new account with a username that represents only you. Alternatively, you may consider changing your username to avoid giving the impression that your personal account is being used for promotional purposes.

Regardless of whether you change your name or create a new account, you are not exempted from the guideline to avoid editing where you have a conflict of interest. For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you.

I see that you changed your username. Thank you for making the effort to follow policy! I hope to see many more positive contributions from you. :) Avicennasis @ 09:33, 23 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your message on my talk page[edit]

Thanks for the message. I am not sure what you mean by "moving" the draft to List of autism-related topics#Researchers and therapists - that section is just a list, so not the place for an article about an individual or her books. When the article is ready for the mainspace, it can be moved to Marilyn J. Monteiro and her name can be added to the list at the List article. I have taken the liberty of making a few formatting changes to your draft. I am however still concerned about the tone - it reads like a resumé or a website blurb, not a neutral encyclopedic article. Hope this helps. – ukexpat (talk) 15:21, 13 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about the delay getting back to you, I was on holiday and then snowed under at work on my return. I have moved the draft for you to Marilyn J. Monteiro, but please do not be surprised if it is tagged for deletion or with maintenance tags. – ukexpat (talk) 13:33, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Snowed under!! That does not sound so fun. Thank you for moving the page and I do understand about deletion. Do they let us know if they plan to delete it and on what grounds they are deleting it under?

Thanks for your help. Richmanla (talk) 17:27, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The page is "live" and does not require any further "approval". As I said above another editor (and remember we are all editors, there is no official editorial body on Wikipedia) may at some time nominate for deletion, but if they do, you will be notified here. I also suggest that you add the page to your watchlist. – ukexpat (talk) 12:59, 3 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ukexpat: Thanks for letting me know. I guess I was confused because I was looking at the Researchers and Therapists list and did not see her there. How do I add her to that page?

I will add the page to the watchlist as suggested. Thank you

I added her to List of autism-related topics#Researchers and therapists with this edit. – ukexpat (talk) 03:43, 11 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
