your message was useful and helpful. I just spent a whole day going through the article and adding/removing/editing the sources/references. I see many of Uri's colleagues from the Israeli Foreign Ministry have wiki articles, and I am trying to align with those, as well. I would be grateful if you could take another look. I saw that you dropped by IRC channel #wikipedia-en-help. The technical problem of formatting the references looks like it is now solved.
You still need to take care that every statement has a footnote. I prefer to see footnotes at the end of sentences. When I see mid-sentence footnotes, I immediately think you are assembling a statement from multiple sources which no one source can support. See WP:SYNTHESIS for more about this problem.
You can use sources that are not online. They'll be harder for reviewers to verify, but as long as you provide enough bibliographical information that the source can be looked up by someone using a good library, it should not be a problem. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 15:12, 5 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Greenman, I am trying to better understand the comments you made when rejecting my draft (Draft:Uri Shraga Gutman). I dont know how to reference an objective source for a date of birth of my subject (a living person) other than uploading their passport or birth-certificate (which are the sources that I have seen), without breaching privacy laws and regulations. If you have some idea for how I can do this otherwise, can you please suggest? Additionally, I have referenced all that I can from online sources. I do have some "hard-copy" references (newspaper articles, for example, from the 1990s and early 2000s) - but I have not found these online, and therefore could not provide a reference to them for the article. Can you suggest a solution for this? Many thanks for your comments, and in advance for your help. Avggtmn (talk) 09:10, 30 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
