Hello, Awikipro, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. There are certain policies you might find helpful to read before you start mainspace editing:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! If you need help or have any questions about Wikipedia visit the active question page and get answers from WikiPros. Please make sure to sign your messages on discussion pages. Again, welcome!

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Template:Prohelp, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. WuhWuzDat 07:53, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there currently is a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. WuhWuzDat 08:05, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

February 2011[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, the username you have chosen (Awikipro) seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of a group, company or website.

There are two issues with this:

  1. It is possible that you have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, you must exercise great caution when editing on topics related to your organization.
  2. Your account cannot represent a group of people. You may wish to create a new account with a username that represents only you. Alternatively, you may consider changing your username to avoid giving the impression that your personal account is being used for promotional purposes.

Regardless of whether you change your name or create a new account, you are not exempted from the guidelines concerning editing where you have a conflict of interest. For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you.

  • I'm not an organization, just a person who is not giving anyone the impression that I am a group of people or a company. Rather Awikipro I close because several other usernames were already used. The only thing that I am offering new users is answers to questions... Plus, my next more was to get expert Wikipedians to help answer those questions. The tags you are marking for deletion are no different than WP:Dragon or WikiPro (talk) 08:19, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Read the Bold Print above that says "or website", Mr awikipro.com! WuhWuzDat 08:24, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
      • It talks about how putting the web address directly username is wrong like "awikipro.com". Oh and FYI I changed my appearing name to WikiPro so obviously I'm not trying to promote the website. I don't even make that available on search engines (intentionally).WikiPro (talk) 08:35, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • No, that is splitting hairs. Your site is called Awikipro so it is very clear that your user account represents that site, whether there is a .com in your name or not - especially since all your edits have been to promote your website. --bonadea contributions talk 08:42, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I don't a chance for a proper defence? I've already been blocked from editing before a really discussion.WikiPro (talk) 09:00, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • I am ashamed of these fellow Wikipedians to act so harshly.... I actually wasn't posting for the purpose of advertisement or to promote a website... I say that because I really didn't need to. I posted to these pages for pure assistance to new users... no bite answers to questions about how to do things here on Wikipedia. I wanted to make my talk page a good place to go for the person touch for new users... rather than being forced to reading countless numbers of text most other editors send them to a few minutes before they block them.... Shame on all of you.WikiPro (talk) 09:14, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
There are plenty of informative welcome templates you could have used - all of them with links to places where the new user can go and ask questions. --bonadea contributions talk 09:20, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
So what.. that means I can't create more? Beside, I think you missed the point... The other links send them to tons of pages with links to tons of pages that have information on doing things here on Wikipedia. However, the personal touch is missing... and who else to help new users looking to create and add valid information to Wikipedia than the Professionals. I was planning to create Wikipedia: pages that also operated off the FRIENDLY and personal touch approach to dealing with edits that make conflict with certain policies, but content that might be worthy for Wikipedia. I was still writing everything up before you all blocked and deleted my work... before even understanding what or why I was doing what I was doing.WikiPro (talk) 09:31, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
If you were just offering to help other Wikipedians, that would have been fine. If you were just running a business offering Wikipedia editing services, well, that's fine too. (All the best for your business, btw.) Combining the two things is the problem. There was simply a manifest conflict of interest in both its off-wiki and on-wiki senses. Let me give an example. Say my day job was a business offering advice about intellectual property rights on the internet, especially Wikipedia, and as a Wikipedian I offered to help out other users with intellectual property rights. OK, so I try my best to keep the two things seperate. My day job would be compromised - I couldn't help but be seen as advocating for Wikipedia, even if I wasn't. My hobby as a wikipedian would be hopelessly compromised - I would be seen as advocating my clients' interests, even if I wasn't. I could do one or the other, but not both. Does that make sense to you? --Shirt58 (talk) 10:26, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
