Hi Axad12, thank you for your message about this school, and for all the work you've done to try to resolve this on the article's Talk page. I'll give it some thought and get back to you. Tacyarg (talk) 08:36, 30 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Tacyarg, this has been in the back of my mind for a while now but I've long since given up on trying to talk the disruptive editor into more reasonable behaviour. My impression is that the only way to resolve the underlying problem may be to take it to ANI or similar, on the basis of edit warring contrary to consensus, and breaches of WP:IDHT, WP:LEAD, WP:UNCIVIL, WP:NOTNEWS, etc., etc., etc.
Requesting increased page protection might have been a thought, but the user has engaged in so much tinkering with his text that is he already above the edit count where that kind of sanction would be effective?
I must say that I have more appetite for dealing with issues like UPE than I do for dealing with inexperienced but opinionated new editors who won't accept that they are in the wrong.
I've had some really positive experiences recently with inexperienced editors who ended up at COIN but just needed a little guidance on how to achieve what they were trying to do without straying outside of the rules (including at Latymer School). Unfortunately this wasn't one of the positive ones(!).
Any thoughts on where things might go from here would be appreciated.
I recently had a positive resolution to an ingrained UPE situation on the article for a FTSE 100 company. I'd been working towards that for some months, along with some other users, and having obtained a good outcome there I think it's possible I may now go into (semi-)retirement. However, I just wanted to return to this school case before doing so. Axad12 (talk) 08:55, 11 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
