This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Gene Odom, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.lynyrdskynyrdbook.com/about.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 18:41, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Gene Odom requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

Why is Gene Odom notable?[edit]

With respect to Mr. Odom, why should a bodyguard and friend of someone who is notable be considered notable themselves? Explaining Odom's notability is what is needed. Thank you, ⋙–Berean–Hunter—► ((⊕)) 13:09, 13 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Idea: Use Gene's book as a source for references[edit]

Hi Billy, I'd suggest that you use Gene's new book as a reference for citations. For example, you put in one of your edit summaries that Van Zant was killed by the VCR that wrenched from its mount..well, we don't have that fact in the Lynyrd Skynyrd article and if Gene's book has it, it could be a good addition. If you need ANY help please let me know and I will be glad to assist you...and thank you for posting pictures of the crash area. I will probably end up linking those into the article(s). I will follow this post with a welcome that should also provide some useful links for you to learn about Wikipedia...

Hint:press the target in my signature to get to my talk page...

July 2012[edit]

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Gtwfan52 (talk) 14:09, 27 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
