Welcome[edit]

Hello Bandetta. Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your edits and for your voluntary commitment. As Wikipedia is based on co-operation and consensus, the best would be to discuss the issue with other users before making any changes. If you attempt to do everything single-handed, you might meet with slight displeasure of other users who have been happy with the status quo.--RJFF (talk) 17:47, 24 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I think in most cases the colour template are guided by the official colours that can be found in the party's logos or on their campaign websites. However, it is impracticable with Freedom&Justice on the one and Wafd on the other hand, both using a very similar shade of green. Therefore, I would propose to use Wafd's official green in the infobox of their own article, but find a colour that is better to distinguish in the election tables. I will propose this on the Talk:Egyptian parliamentary election, 2011–2012 page and you can join discussion there, ok? And please do not forget to sign your posts on talk pages (both users' and articles' talks) with four tildes (~~~~) Then we can always see that you have written it. Thank you. And again: welcome to Wikipedia. --RJFF (talk) 17:50, 24 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for reverting you again. I don't want to discourage you from editing. But some decisions should be discussed beforehand. Of course, you don't have to discuss if you want to correct spelling or other mistakes. But whether or not it is useful and necessary to add the position in political spectrum (which often triggers heavy discussions, because it tends to be somewhat subjective and depending on the point of view) to the election result table, might be a contentious point and should be discussed first. I would advise against adding it. Kind regards and keep having fun. You may always Wikipedia:Be bold! Kind regards --RJFF (talk) 18:12, 24 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Party meta templates[edit]

Sorry for stalking you again. But it is important to always use exactly the same name in the meta templates as the article's title uses. E.g. the meta template for The Revolution Continues Alliance has to be Template:The Revolution Continues Alliance/meta... and so on. Otherwise, the templates will not work in the infobox template. Regards --RJFF (talk) 18:21, 24 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Good idea to prepare it in your user space first. Many, even very experienced, users do it this way. See you. --RJFF (talk) 18:26, 24 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

January 2012[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, please cite a reliable source for your addition. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. See Wikipedia:Citing sources for how to cite sources, and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Hi -- you are providing some excellent, very important information. Thank you for that. But it often lacks references, and therefore may be removed by editors under our verifiability policy. It would be great if -- when adding sources -- you were to add references, to avoid that possibility. Many thanks. Epeefleche (talk) 00:07, 25 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Bandetta. I'll second what Epeefleche has said. It's very important that you always remember to cite the sources for the information you add. Thank you. --RJFF (talk) 01:24, 25 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks again, B, and thanks for your note.--Epeefleche (talk) 18:50, 27 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Source of Egyptian election results[edit]

Can you be clear on whether the voting figures you have posted come from the Election Commission website or from the Jadaliyyah website? I ask because there are substantial differences between them, notably for Cairo I and Sawhag I and II. Curiously, Jadaliyyha's figures for Sawhag seem more credible, but there's no indication of what source Jadaliyyah has used to get these figures. Perhaps you can clarify this, and also why no figures at all exist for the constituency voting. Intelligent Mr Toad (talk) 11:54, 27 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • I actually did create the logo myself based on the party's logo. I even wrote the words in Arabic myself. The proof is that it's a png file and you can check that the words I wrote are editable in any program that edits png files. Also the rest of the logo I did make it myself. I'm not sure I understand why this is a problem. --B for Bandetta (talk) 22:16, 28 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free rationale for File:Reform & Development.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Reform & Development.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 15:13, 3 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Re: where[edit]

Poarps and my humble self disagree. We have expressed our disagreement by reverting your unilateral changes for which there is obviously no consensus. There is a certain layout used for the election result tables of all countries around the world, and I think it's a good idea not to deviate from it too much, to retain consistency. Moreover, I don't think that the many, many colourful graphs make the whole thing more lucid, to the opposite: it gets less clear. Again: Wikipedia is based on community, on co-operation and on consensus, and not on single-handed actions. Kind regards --RJFF (talk) 00:12, 16 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Bandetta:

  1. You are one user who insists to have it your way, I don't see the "people" who come and express support for your variant. So you cannot speak of having consensus for your position.
  2. After 4 February, no one objected to your proposal, but neither did anyone support it. Now, I express my objection: I kind of don't like the color bars, because they are unnecessary, and not improving the lucidity but make it confused.
  3. Sorry, but I cannot see your version as a compromise version.
  4. It becomes very clear in my version of the table, that some parties contest individually, and some contest in electoral blocs. Where's the problem? And we have election results tables for 195 countries, each of them has a different electoral law and political system. Still none of them ever had the urgent need to add coloured bars to make the result understandable, and no other use has ever complained that they needed colour bars to make the result more graphic.
  5. I don't see the sources you offer. Where are they? Kind regards --RJFF (talk) 00:36, 16 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
