Obafemi Martins[edit]

You have replaced: "Martins is known for his pace, powerful shots and spectacular celebrations.

Although relatively short, Martins has a good leap and the Nigerian based newspaper 'The Daily Sun' reported that he used to be very good at the long jump and high jump.[1]"

With:

"Martins is known for his powerful shots, acrobatic celebrations and also his speed. He can reportedly run 100 meters in less than 10.5 seconds (Olympic quality). His speed usually enables him to get behind defenders and create one-on-one chances with the goalkeeper. He is also very good at the long jump and high jump"

Twice now, I just want to tell you why I have reverted it back. The main problem is that this part of the article (as I put on the talk page) pre-dates the Daily-Sun's article and if you compare the two complete articles you'll find that huge parts have been lifted, presumably from the wiki text as it pre-dates the other. So using the newspaper for a source is a little problematic and I can't find anything else that confirms it, fair enough if you can. The other problem is that the newspaper only says it is rumoured that he used to be able to run 100m in under 11 seconds. Not that he can run it now in under 10.5 seconds. We can't put everything in that has just been rumoured in a Nigerian tabloid paper otherwise wiki would fill up with nonsense. Same thing goes for the long and high jump which he used to be good at.Stev17 14:53, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Category:FA Premier League players[edit]

I'm sorry to moan at you, but....this category states: This category is for footballers who have appeared in the English Premier League. Many of them are not Englishmen. However I've noticed you've added some players who have never played in the Premier League, and have been merely signed on as players for Prem clubs. I've reverted a few of the ones I can spot that have been wrongly added, eg Joe Hart. A surprising one was Pascal Zuberbühler who has never been registered to a Prem club. Please be careful. Yohann Gourcuff[edit]

Please see Yoann Gourcuff. Perhaps your article should be a redirect to it.  Slumgum T. C.   13:12, 5 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies about this. Yes I think it should be a redirect. Bababoum 13:36, 5 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Current FA Premier League players[edit]

If you are ever adding Category:FA Premier League players to any player articles, could you also add Category:Current FA Premier League players to the article if they are currently playing in the league? It would be a big help. I'm aiming to add this category to as many current players as possible before the Premiership season starts. Regards. Mark272 16:56, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, certainly. In return will you also try to add players to the FA Premier League players category whenever necessary. I've been trying to remember as many players that I can who have appeared in the Premiership and it's not easy. It would be very appreciated. Bababoum 17:26, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry to butt in, but footballsquads.com might be of use to that end.  Slumgum T. C.   16:37, 7 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That's excellent. Thanks Slumgum Bababoum 21:54, 7 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Newcastle United LFC[edit]

Thanks for creating the Newcastle United LFC article. I just wanted to reassure you that you did get the article's name right, in the end. Thanks again! --StuartBrady (Talk) 01:33, 4 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. Thanks, it took me a while to get the name right! Thanks for fixing the redirects as well. Bababoum 08:00, 4 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Rolando Bianchi[edit]

Hi there, Bababoum.

Why the article was originally deleted, frankly, is a mystery to me too. I can't think that he, at the time the article first existed, he wasn't worthy of an article. The most important thing, though, is that it's back, and it looks like he's going to remain an important figure in Italian football for at least the first half, if not the whole of this season. Bobo. 17:19, 22 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bababoum said:
Thanks for clearing this up Bobo. It does seem bizarre that the article was originally deleted but at least it's back.

I just think it's as simple as him having had such a good start to the season that he now warrants an article. Suddenly everyone's stood up and took notice, and with that, comes a new Wikipedia article. Regards. Bobo. 10:26, 23 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Frankie boyle.JPG[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Frankie boyle.JPG. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 48 hours after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ed g2stalk 23:32, 13 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Rubén Manusovich[edit]

An editor has nominated Rubén Manusovich, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rubén Manusovich and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Fair use rationale for File:FNWJR.JPG[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:FNWJR.JPG. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 22:40, 6 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free rationale for File:Matchoftheday2studio.JPG[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Matchoftheday2studio.JPG. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
