Berlin Brigade patch[edit]

The US army version (according to them) is here [[1]]. We also have this from the busmva reunion 2006 [[2]]. And this [[3]]. There is this [[4]], and this [[5]]. The same site also has this [[6]] We also have this[[7]]. It would seem that all of the official sites have more or less the same badge, and its not the one I removed, that seemes to be based on (but an alterd version of) the Berlin distrcit badge. As to uploading the image, I am not myet a member of Wik-commons. As long as any added material can ve verified then there is no problom expanding the article.Slatersteven (talk) 14:48, 4 October 2009 (UTC) Sadley its not simplified it adds colours. As I said it seems to be the Berlin District patch, but with district removed.Slatersteven (talk) 15:27, 4 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

OK as its a real one I see no reason not to use it.Slatersteven (talk) 14:45, 27 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

2 nd one. Hope you are better. Care for yourself! Sebastian scha. (talk) 09:35, 6 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the well wishes Sebastian scha., My health goes up and down since quite some time. I can't write more 'cause this is public here. I'd write more by email though. Oh, before I forget again: Expanding the Forces Françaises à Berlin article and adding pictures is a li'l tricky as they all left Berlin some 15 years ago, but I will try.--BajanZindy (talk) 11:56, 6 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

fmr. Berlin Tempelhof Airport aka TCA[edit]

Köhler weiht Dokumentationszentrum in Berlin ein. stern.de, 6 May 2010 Alandeus (talk) 11:26, 10 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Opening ceremony was at Staaken (by the way I've just found that the opening photo was made in hangar there [8]) - but the race started from Tempelhof. I have to check, where were technical trials. Pibwl ←« 12:42, 12 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, just saying a quick hello.[edit]

Hi,

I'm in Barbados now and I'm taking all kinds of photos. Is there anything in particular you think I should try to take a photo of? I have a few more of ABC HWY. The Careenage, and other things... Anything else? CaribDigita (talk) 20:09, 21 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi CaribDigita, what a nice surprise after yesterday afternoon's shocknews of the burned down Sam Lord's Castle. I'd suggest you making some few more images of the Transport Board buses (blue) and the minibuses (yellow), the major roundabouts with their special decoration, Mount Gay Visitor's Centre at Spring Garden Highway, some pictures of Holetown like a 360° picture from the westcoast main road, Fishermen Pub in Speightstown, greetings to Junior from Berlin, of course Sam Lord's, Nation & Advocate HQs at Fontabelle, Kensington Oval, then Bridgetown, Independence Square, Fairchild Street, the bus terminal and the Starcom HQ a li'l further down River Road. There's mostlikely a lot more I can't imagine right now. Send me n emil with a phone no. and time when to catch you. I gonna make a small list. BTW: Check out the Outline of Barbados article. I think it's redundant and should get deleted or merged. Greetin's to Barbados! Joerg, the BajanZindy (talk) 21:38, 21 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, there. I'm ahead of you on the buses. :-) Sad news about the late PM huh? I've got a bunch around Fairchild St. and Lower Green bus stand. Unfortunately I don't have a camera that can do 360. I'm actually just using Camera phone this visit. You want more of the Nation/Advocate newspapers buildings? I added some back in 2000 last time I was here. All countries have outlines I think, no? (Index and Outline) I thought??? Other people told me I should go Warrens and someone else mentioned Sandy Lane. I chuckled at the idea of Sandy Lane Hotel. I thought you had to make millions of dollars to even enter into their compound. :-) That's a little out of my tax bracket. I tried to take a photo of Government House by the Nita Barrow roundabout and got chased out of there. No taking photos of government buildings. CaribDigita (talk) 16:53, 25 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hi to Barbados, That with the PM was a shock. I put a condolence message on my User page. I knew he was extremely sick, but I didn't expect iot to go bad this fast. Well, I had to get the article for the late PM semi protected to keep vandals off. Lotta work. If you got some pics from the Nation 'n' Advocate you don't need to do more. I thought there're non. Good to here about more bus images. Warrens I don't know, so it might be worth it. Interesting might also be the south coast Main road between the beach walk west of Hastings and Chefette BBQ-Barn east from Accra Beach, Hastings Plaza, Bubba's, Quayside Mall, Chefette, the Accra Beach maybe more. Do we have nuff pics from de Garrison Savannah and from the BL&P HQs? There's also and amimal park somewhere in the east of Barbados, maybe there's something good, e.g. some Green Monkey, them huge frogs and the fingernail-size li'l Whistlefrog. BTW: them roundabouts wid de decoration are usually very attractive sometime before independence and at night. It's the lights what makes them look so good. About the Outline-Article: If you think it's okay and should be there as an index, then I do agree. I only thought it's too big and detailed for an index. But then again, why not? You have a nice stay 'pon de rock. I gotta stop here or I remember another thing again. I gotta go back to Barbados anyway. My friend down there is too old now and I wouldn't like the man to pass without me returning there, hopefully sometime nex' year. Joerg, the BajanZindy (talk) 21:06, 25 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I agree about the Prime Minister. I too didn't expect him to go either. I thought he would have made it through his term at least. I had been hoping for a chance encounter to talk politics with him since he's quite the debater. I love a good challenge and I know I certainly would have picked up some serious pearls of wisdom from him that I would have been able to keep for the rest of my life. You know? I took some photos of the State Funeral (On TV) from CBC. I got one with the BDF officer handing widow-Mara the flag that was draped on the casket and the religious ministers and the gun salute and stuff. I also took some photos of the inside of the Senate and House of Assembly on TV. I called the Clerk of Parliament, and that man wont even call me back. I would rather get a photo of the empty chambers of Parliament but, if all I can get is one with the Senators and MPs in their seats then that's all I can do if he wont meet me half way. LOL I told him it's for Wikipedia and thing and he wont call me back. *stupes* I passed by BLP HQ the other day. On Roebuck Street. I have to head back down there. What else should be taken around The Garrison? P.S. I was using a SPAM only email address on Wikipedia and I forgot to check it so Yahoo deleted it. I changed it to Gmail since Gmail doesn't get shut down until after like six months. So if you wanted to email me with personal details that you don't want all of WP to see feel free to click the link in my profile to send me an email. "Boo Boo" edit[edit]

Just wanted to let you know I removed the Lord Melody songs with Boo Boo in the name as there was no citation. Also, the disambigiation page is for other uses of the word itself, not just things that might include it. Also, song names by an artist not widely very known outside the Carribean should be cited to keep somebody else from identifying that as vandalism. Perhaps if you cited the album and whether the song is listed as both of those names or just one, other editors would leave it alone. Just a note, since I didn't remove the song names just to be picky - I'm trying to follow Wikipedia rules on notability, proper listing, and it was in good faith. Trista 24.176.191.234 (talk) 19:16, 18 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the message back. Are you saying Lord Melody didn't actually record the Boo Boo songs? Again, it's a notability issue I was looking at. The entry could be challenged on that point if you cannot find a proper citation for it. And I am registered, I just cannot log in at work. All the best, Trista (user Triste Tierra - cannot log in at work) 24.176.191.234 (talk) 21:11, 18 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Another small point about disambigiation - putting those two songs under "Boo Boo" seems a bit like putting "Who Let The Dogs Out" under the disambiguation of "dog". That was what I was trying to get at and why I removed the edit in the first place. I happen to like Jamaican/Carribean music, but I do understand the original writers/artists almost never get any credit for their work. Cheers, Trista 24.176.191.234 (talk) 21:17, 18 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry Bajan, I just don't see anything that really & truly justifies the notability of the BooBoo Man songs in order to list them in the disambiguation list. I am going by Wikipedia rules here, not anything personal. Especially since Boo Boo is already listed as a "bogeyman" or evil being in the list. Disambiguation is supposed to be about other meanings of the word/phrase, not places where the word/phrase is included, which is why I gave you the example of listing "Who Let The Dogs Out" being listed under "dogs". I really think it needs to be removed, and will take care of it soon. I'm sorry I could not find a way to justify it - even with a citation of the song - it doesn't qualify as a proper disambiguation. Trista 24.176.191.234 (talk) 22:39, 20 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for being understanding about this. Since the definition of Boo Boo in Jamaican/Carribean dialect is already there, at least you have that. It's hard sometimes when Wikipedia's rules must be followed literally (somewhat like the old saying "The law is a blunt instrument", meaning it hits everything and is not selective). But I do hope you understand that allowing one incorrect usage of disambiguations just causes numerous others to pop up and editors saying "well, that one is here - why can't mine be too?". I may edit from work where I can only access Wikipedia with my IP address, but I am committed to fighting vandalism and those who want to turn Wikipedia into their own personal playground, with their opinions and intrepretations, rather than the encyclopaedia it is intended to be. Again, I'm sorry, but I just cannot justify leaving the song in the list. If the song was only called Boo Boo, it would be easier, but it's not, so it must go. All the best Bajan, it was nice chatting with you. Cheers, Trista 24.176.191.234 (talk) 22:49, 21 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You know, I thought we had ended this peacefully, then I get messages from you ripping me up. You do what you want with the Boo Boo article. I will not discuss it further. Trista 24.176.191.234 (talk) 20:52, 23 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, the comments about vandalism and personal playground were *in no way* directed at you. I'm very sorry you thought I was accusing you of anything, as I was not. Please do not put further messages on my talk page. I am apologizing for accidentally hurting your feelings, again - the comments were not meant to apply to you - but others who mess with Wikipedia.
