Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Bakharla may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. Images in Bakharla article - copyright questions[edit]

Hallo, I notice that you have added some images to the Bakharla article saying that they are "own work": did you as an individual actually create the map at File:Bakharla porbandar map.png and take the aerial photograph at File:Bak 02.jpg yourself? If not, please correct the information you have given about the files, and remove them from the article if they are someone else's copyright. Several other pictures are attributed to the website at http://www.bakharla.com, but that website has a copyright symbol so the files do not appear to be available to be used in Wikipedia, and should be removed. Wikipedia cannot allow editors to break the law by infringing copyright. Thank you. PamD 17:04, 5 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Pam, Thanks for highlighting the issues as we are in the learning mode. On the aerial photo which has been obtained from Google Earth, I guess from what you say is that we can't use even though we have edited them, etc.as the copyright would be with Google? On the other photos we have approval from http://www.bakharla.com to use the photographs and I understand an email from the http://www.bakharla.com was sent to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org indicating approval for usage, though if that is still a problem due to the copyright watermark, then we will remove them and use alternatives. We can arrange for the approval for usage to be sent again or to an alternative email address, etc.

Please advise accordingly and we will make that changes.

Thanks

Do you have some official connection to the village? And/or are you doing this ate the village's behest? If so I must ask that you review our conflict of interest policy as continuing to edit the village article under those circumstances woudl appear to confict with it. You might also want to change your username as it becomes hard for other users to accept your contributions in good faith. Daniel Case (talk) 19:30, 5 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,

I have no official connection with the village and neither am I working on this at the village's request. I understand your comment regarding the username and ambiguity it may cause. I will look into that matter with urgency. Thanks for pointing that out.
