I notice you uploaded File:EN Woodruff.jpg. Do you happen to have a copy of the Talisman from 1939 handy? In order for Wikipedia to consider the image free, either the Talisman has to not have a copyright notice, or we have to establish that the copyright was not renewed. There are the two ways that pre-1978 works in the U.S. fall into public domain and can be used without permission: see Wikipedia:Public domain#Published works. (U.S. federal government works are always public domain also, but the school district isn't a federal agency.) I added {{PD-Pre1978}} to the file, but we need to make sure that's correct before long. --Closeapple (talk) 10:19, 14 January 2010 (UTC)

I've gone through the book and have found no such copyright notice that would disallow my scan of the image being uploaded here. --Ryan.harms (talk) 20:07 14 January 2010 (UTC)
