Featured article nomination for Ben McLemore[edit]

Hi, Barnguy98; welcome to Wikipedia! I will add some welcoming information to your talk page next. I removed your partly-formed nomination for Ben McLemore from WP:FAC because the nomination was not submitted correctly, but more importantly, the article is not close to meeting the criteria for a featured article, and it would have ended up closed speedily. Generally, first-time nominators may find it more helpful and productive to try submitting an article to Good article before attempting a featured article, which typically requires lengthy editing experience. You can scroll through some of the articles at WP:FA to get a better idea of the expectations there. Best regards, SandyGeorgia (Talk) 04:43, 22 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

<- I second these suggestions. Article improvement is a noble goal but this particular article is not ready for FAC yet. (t · c) buidhe 04:49, 22 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Barnguy98, Cliff Clinkscales is an example of a basketball featured bio that may be helpful should you decide to work on Ben McLemore to get it to at least Good article level. At WP:FAC, nominators are presumed to have been involved in building the article, as they have to know the sources well and have completed a survey of the relevant literature to make sure the article is comprehensive and well-source, per WP:WIAFA. As you have never edited Ben McLemore, it's unlikely you would be able to address queries about the sourcing and comprehensiveness. As the article stands now, it would also be a quick fail at WP:GAN, so quite a bit of work is needed before it could be ready for WP:FAC.
