Or, you can just type {{help me}} on this page, followed by your question, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

Creating new articles

[edit]

Creating new articles from a blank start is one of the harder tasks on Wikipedia. In future I urge you to use the Article Wizard to create a draft under the Articles for Creation project. There, an experienced editor will review your draft once you think it is ready. Only when a reviewer approves will the draft be moved to the main article space. This avoids the situation where a deletion is requested soon after the initial version of an article is posted. Also, please read Wikipedia's Golden Rule and Your First Article, if you have not already done so. The advice there can be very helpful, in my view. Some points of Wikipedia editing

[edit]

In an article about a person, we always refer to the subject by last name without title after the initial use of the full name. (Barr, not Mr. Barr, nor Ted.) We never refer to the subject by first name. When there are several people with the same last name discussed (family members, for example) use full names to avoid confusion.

Please use proper section headers not bold text. The software will automatically create a table of contents from them if there are 4 or more.

Please do not use indents at the starts of paragraphs. It will cause off effects in display, and is not the Wikipedia style.

Please refer to a decade as "1980s" not "1980's".

Please do not express or imply any opinions or judgements, unless these are directly attributed to a named person, preferably in a direct quotation, and are supported by an inline citation.

Thank you. DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 03:35, 13 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
