Page moves
[edit]You're welcome to try and move pages to new titles. Be aware though that under the terms of the rather dull legal licence that covers Wikipedia contributions, we can't just move articles by copying and pasting them to new locations. Instead, you'll find that once you've been a user for more than about 3 days, you'll have a new tab at the top of the page saying 'move'. You must use this and this only to move pages - it's a copyright requirement.
As for your moval of Major professional sports league - you need to be aware that page moves can be controversial. It's worth proposing them on talk pages before undertaking them.
Cheers, and I hope you stay and contribute further. --Robdurbar 23:08, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
Your recent move of Major U.S. Professional Sports League
[edit]Please do not move or rename a page by copying/pasting its content, because doing so destroys the edit history. (The GFDL requires acknowledgement of all contributors, and editors continue to hold copyright on their contributions unless they specifically give up this right. Hence it is required that edit histories be preserved for all major contributions until the normal copyright expires.)
If you cannot rename a page using the "Move page" link at the top of the screen next to the "Edit this page" and "History" buttons, or you think that the renaming may be controversial, please go to Wikipedia:Requested moves and list it there. Thanks. Zzyzx11 (Talk) 02:32, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
Moved from User page
[edit]So what if Spain has the world basketball trophy? Spain's best player, Pau Gasol, plays for the one and only NBA. YES, the NBA is indeed the "premier basketball league in the world." It's a bold statement. And it's true. Team USA winnng world basketball championships has NOTHING to do with this fact. This is because it is not only Americans who play for the NBA. In fact, a significant amount of NBA players are international ballers. The top teams in the league, the Suns, the Spurs, the Mavericks, and the Pistons, all have international players who play many minutes a game (Steve Nash, Leandro Barbosa, Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobli, etc.). The fact that the best international players come to play for the NBA only solidifes the truthfulness of that "bold statement" that the NBA is the "premier basketball league in the world." 68.98.46.161 06:05, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
