Hi Bearcan! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Hi Kj! Thanks for the advice. However, I don't recall editing anything that truly changed the meaning of an article or even a sentence. If it's not a bother, could you please give specific examples so I could figure out how to improve in the future?

Hi Bearcan, as an example, this edit changed the categories, which WP:MINOR says shouldn't be marked as a minor change. It's not a big deal, just something to be aware of in the future. :) -Kj cheetham (talk) 10:31, 6 November 2022 (UTC)

Thank you so much for the advice. I didn't realize that there was a specific definition for a "minor change." I'm grateful for the way you phrased it as well, as some others have been pretty rude to me on this platform so far. I have not let that discourage me though, as I would like to help where I can. Hi KJ,

You recently helped me out a lot so I figured I'd ask for your advice in this situation. I've always been interested in cell biology and I found the research of a particular researcher, Kathryn Moore, interesting. I have been wanting to improve the online presence of female scientists for a while now, as many scientific fields are very male-dominated, so I took up her page as a project. I worked hard on editing the page, as the current information didn't seem to be particularly well-researched. I found awards, information on her education and career, and lots of other research. I modeled it off of the articles of other female scientists to make sure it came out well. Everything seemed to resemble other articles (the tone, the information, the types of sources cited). A few more experienced editors reviewed what I had written later and changed some things, but nothing had been removed yet and I seemed to be doing a good job. A person named Drmies undid all of my work and accused me of having a conflict of interest (I don't). Everything that they think I did wrong seemed no different from a lot of the other articles I had read.

Would you mind giving me some advice as to how to proceed, and restore the information back to researchers who may want to learn about the subject?

I am not related to, employed, or connected in general to Kathryn Moore. I am just very interested in the field that she works in and I enjoy working to promote gender diversity in the primarily male-dominated field of science.
