COM 482 Introductions[edit]

Hi Sam Bell! I am Elizabeth Popoff and it is so nice to communicate with you through an online community. I am a senior at the University of Washington with a major in Communication, maybe we could walk at graduation together? In my spare time I enjoy reading, cooking, hiking, and drinking coffee. Welcome![edit]

Greetings Bellsam4 and welcome (again!) to both Wikipedia and to COM482! I saw that you picked bear claw (pastry). What a fun article/topic. It also looks like you are already making good progress on improving the article wikth the new section of production. This is a good start. If you haven't already, take a look at the talk page of the article (Talk:Bear claw (pastry)) and at related WikiProjects (like Wikipedia:WikiProject Food and drink) that will have links to excellent articles on similar topics which should point you at templates and examples of how to improve the article. I'm looking forward to seeing things developed. Good luck! —mako 18:31, 19 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Feedback on your draft[edit]

Greetings Bellsam4! I've done a pass on User:Bellsam4/Bear claw (pastry). You've obviously done a bunch of research and added a bunch of good new information. I have some feedback for you as well:

  • You seem to have edited out the lede of the article so it's now in the History section. All Wikipedia articles need to have an intro section or paragraph that gives a summary. You can see WP:LEDE for more information.
  • The section on health and nutrition feels a little unfocused. I think part of the problem is that it's very specific information but only about Panera or about pastries in general. This article is supposed to be about bearclaws (in general) but not all pastry. I'm not sure how to make this work. Maybe just replace this with a sentence or two that says like that like all pastries, bearclaws are basically not super healthy? It's up to you.

Once you make a final pass to clean up this stuff, please go ahead and move your changes over into the live version. I think with another pass, you'll be in good shape! —mako 18:03, 4 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
