Thought this was humorous

Check out the edit description of this edit. Seems he was just using it as a derogatory epitaph not necessarily meaning the other editor was gay. I see the same thing in on-line games but no WP:RS - no edition to the faggot (slang) article. I laugh because of that damn Matt and Trey of South Park. They just added fuel to the fire; they didn't start the evolution of the term. BTW, if you think I fed the trolls on that talk page I'm more than happy to delete any of my comments. My first was just a call to arms! Alatari (talk) 06:31, 6 December 2009 (UTC)

No problem, I think the evolution is actually a bit in reverse but agree the term has undergone some evolution. I'm sure there are some good books that delve into this. No worries on the trolls but you can archive the section if you wish. -- Banjeboi 22:00, 7 December 2009 (UTC)

Archiving all the way to Talk:Faggot_(slang)#Origin of pejoration against homosexuals too aggressive? Alatari (talk) 02:01, 8 December 2009 (UTC)

Usually I target unneeded/stale threads; if worse comes to worse one that's still needed ca be un-archived. -- Banjeboi 02:03, 8 December 2009 (UTC)

(talk page stalker)A couple of things spring to mind.
[[User_talk:Benjiboi| -- <u style="font-size:14px; font-family: cursive;color:#8000FF">Banj<font color="#FF4400">e</font></u><u style="font-size:14px;font-family: Zapfino, sans-serif;color:deeppink">b<font color="#AA0022">oi</font></u>]]
One is that 'Zapfino' is not a font you can rely on all viewers to have. So font-family:cursive; works better in that it will display using whatever cursive font is available. Another is that you are using <font> ... </font> tags, which are so last millennium and don't work well either. That's about all I've got for now, but you should maybe ask someone who's more up with css coding.   pablohablo. 22:30, 7 December 2009 (UTC)

AfD nomination of E-mail letter

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is E-mail letter. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/E-mail letter (2nd nomination). Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:11, 11 December 2009 (UTC)

Do you want a userspace copy for improved sourcing and transwiki to Wikiporno, for example? I saw the AfD too late to make any comment, by the time I'd finished reading the debate, article and sources it had been deleted. Fences&Windows 01:52, 11 December 2009 (UTC)

Re: John Barrowman

It appears that Barrowman has broken some tired stereotypes about gay people, and he has been very forthcoming about this, holding opinions and engaging in behaviors that deviate from these stereotypes often perpetrated by culture and the media. I find this very interesting and I would like to write more about it, and say something about this in the lead section. As a straight man who spent a long time living in San Francisco, I find much of what Barrowman says to be right on the mark. There are a huge number of stereotypes about gay people that seem, in many ways, to mirror what was once said about the Irish, Jews, African-Americans (and other ethnic groups) as well as feminists in the United States. If you can find anything about Barrowman's work in this area, or commentators in the gay press who have serious opinions on Barrowman's approach, I would be grateful for your time. Criticism, of course, would also be appreciated. Thanks. Viriditas (talk) 04:51, 10 December 2009 (UTC)

FYI, I was able to find at least one campaign he worked on. You can see my newest changes over at John_Barrowman#Personal_life. The article still needs major work, but it's getting there, slowly. Thanks. Viriditas (talk) 05:10, 12 December 2009 (UTC)

Would you like to be a featured editor in the next WP:Article Rescue Squadron newsletter?

I was hoping to interview two editors for the next Article Rescue Squadron newsletter.

Here is the interview from our first issue to give you an idea of what it is like:

Would you like to be a feature editor interviewed for the next issue? As the heart of the project, I think other editors hear your experiences and history with the project.

I could e-mail you the questions, or we could make a special page on wiki for the questions.

Let me know as soon as you log in next. Ikip 23:41, 25 December 2009 (UTC)

Hi, this article is semi-protected for a month. I think it is a good time to push through some corrections of ong-standing problems. I'm currently going through section by section proposing amendments. I know that you were at one time thinking of a more thorough reworking. Can you either come up with proposals. Or, if you're not ecpecting to complete them in a month, can you at least provide an input you feel appropriate on the smaller scale updates I am proposing.--Peter cohen (talk) 16:55, 5 January 2010 (UTC)

Trans Man lede

Hi Benji. Some time ago, I changed the Trans man lede to read "A trans man [is]...a person who was identified as female at birth, but who feels that this is not an accurate or complete description of themselves and consequently identifies as male." I left a message on the talk page looking for comment, but nobody has replied. As we disagreed on the original lede, I was wondering if you could give me your feedback on this change. I'd like to put the matter to rest, so if you have any concerns, please let me know. Happy editing! Throwaway85 (talk) 23:35, 11 January 2010 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs

Hello Benjiboi! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 876 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

Hey, I noticed you undid several of my edits on Chris Crocker. While we may not agree on the notability of many claims/sources used within the article, one thing that really sticks out to me is that the sources cited after Michael Buckley and William Sledd's respective names mention neither Crocker nor the video the paragraph is about. Surely this cannot be an appropriate use of references. I have removed these again; however, I have left the rest of the information. Feather Jonah (talk) 15:31, 21 January 2010 (UTC)

It was long enough ago I'm not sure why they were used - the one from Edge Boston I agree as it doesn't seem needed, the other one I can't find the actual article so removing it seems unfortunate but also not terribly crucial. The article itself is in flux in part because i became tired of all the vandalism. There is some great stuff about Crocker being a pioneer in a wave of LGBT people "coming out" in rural US but I haven't had the energy to research it all and add it yet. The video section choices were presented to show someone unfamiliar with the subject a reasonably quick overview of his work to date. Potentially newer ones could be added but that also seemed not a huge priority unless he actually starts hitting the news again. -- Banjeboi 19:48, 21 January 2010 (UTC)

It's on my watchlist but I hadn't really looked for a good 1.5 month - that's why I was so shocked. I knew there was at least one diehard critic there who was causing problems but I thought they had moved on. I'll keep an eye out. It would also help to start adding content and sources. -- Banjeboi 21:06, 22 January 2010 (UTC)

New concerns were raised

It is not really collegial at all to require people raising concerns to do so by posting in response to edit summaries. NEW concerns were raised by me and you need to actually engage in dialog about them, or face the consequences, as you now have been warned that you are not editing in a collegial manner. What you do next determines what happens next. As I said, you need to make a concrete statement that you understand this problem and that you will exercise more care going forward. NOTHING said in an edit summary will satisfy that requirement. ++Lar: t/c 03:29, 25 January 2010 (UTC)

You are now also acting every bit the bully. The copyvio concern was never mentioned to me prior to Alison accusing me of purposely ignoring some warning that it was, whoever the next person was posed the helpful link and I responded that I didn't find TV.com to be a reliable source , likely never saw it and likely wouldn't use it anyway. I had restored a paragraph and these were uncontroversial statements that this mountain is being propped up by. Suggesting that two unintended incidents spread over months and 49,000+ edits somehow constitutes a pattern is ridiculous and if you cannot see that likely we have discovered the actual problem. I'm well aware that copyvio is forbidden and my track record is rather clear on that. I've gotten articles deleted for the very thing. Anything else you want to pile on here? Your actions are tenditious and unwarranted. The alleged copyvio issue was easily resolvable but an editor chose to take it a different direction. I chose to simply fix it once I was made aware. Perhaps focussing on civility issues in light of trying to make some point would make sense. There was no need to create drama here but now I've gotten to see several editors focus of energy. It has indeed informed my understanding of their efforts here. -- Banjeboi 03:37, 25 January 2010 (UTC)
If you had responded this way initially instead of all this rug sweeping then perhaps there would be a bit less stridency from those trying to converse with you. I stand by my observation that there is a troubling pattern to your overall behavior, although this particular copyvio matter is by far not the largest facet of it. ++Lar: t/c 03:50, 25 January 2010 (UTC)
I need to place much of the more bizarre incidents in the light of the offsite campaigning and harassment. If my response was to laugh off that two incidents, both honest mistakes, should be caged as "gee, you messed up, please be careful" I would have easily looked to the issue and responded in kind. Instead it was solely presented as I must be doing something as part of concerted effort to somehow compromise the project and that is absolutely ridiculous. If those who want to waste time claiming whatever they want to claim offsite apparently that is their right. I don't have to respect on-Wikipedia bullying even if others choose to accept incivility as simply inevitable. They choose to harass, I choose to create. The community will choose one by one which editors should be politely shown the door. Frankly I hope wikibullying becomes blockable sooner than later. -- Banjeboi 03:57, 25 January 2010 (UTC)
