File:Ngc6822 noao big.jpg[edit]

Hello, can you please add a direct source link to File:Ngc6822 noao big.jpg, so it can be verified this file comes from NASA? Also, please don't tag images as "cc-by-sa" or the like unless you can provide proof somebody actually released it under such a license. In this case, we're lucky, because if it's from NASA it will be in the public domain, though not under cc-by-sa. Fut.Perf. 08:35, 10 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Future Perfect, It is from APOD, NASA but has been taken by NOAO. I got it from here - http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap020123.html

The NOAO website says I can use it without any permission for educational purposes.

Ah, I see. Then, unfortunately, I'll have to delete it. Unlike other material created by NASA alone, which is public domain, this material is actually described as copyrighted. Probably because it's not produced by NASA alone but in cooperation with other institutions, which do claim copyright on their work. And a "for educational use" license isn't "free enough" for us, because we accept only material that is free for anybody else to use for any other purpose too. Please see WP:Image use policy for further details. Fut.Perf. 09:48, 10 May 2011 (UTC)y[reply]
