Hi

[edit]

Yeah, I know it's creepy that I'm saying that I'm from the eastern U.S. and nothing else. Just keeping anonymous. And the images you put in the vandalbox, because they contain nudity, can be considered offensive. SupaStarGirl 23:30, 3 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I actually just copied them from that can't sleep, clown will eat me user (although I did resize the images). I see my folly, and I agree that it was offensive- maybe I should have used a picture of something else like a.. erm well as long as it isn't nude and callipygian it might be ok. :D Sorry once again. And I didn't mean it seriously that you were creepy so I guess I'm sorry for that as well :) All in good spirits? --BiT 23:37, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

Also, the userpage vandalism was mostly from one vandal. I automatically try to revert vandals, which is usually good. But with this vandal, I stayed on my userpage reverting the vandal instead of warning or reporting him. When other users told me about that my mistake, I knew not to do that again! SupaStarGirl 17:45, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

So it's just someone vandalizing you repeatedly? Have you got any idea why he's doing it to you? --BiT 18:48, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding edits made to Hellsing (OVA)

[edit]

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia, BiT! However, your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove spam from Wikipedia. If you were trying to insert a good link, please accept my creator's apologies, but note that the link you added, matching rule img[0-9]*\.imageshack\.us/img[0-9]*/.*\.jpg, is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. Please read Wikipedia's external links policy for more information. If the link was to an image, please read Wikipedia's image tutorial on how to use a more appropriate method to insert the image into an article. If your link was intended to promote a site you own, are affiliated with, or will make money from inclusion in Wikipedia, please note that inserting spam into Wikipedia is against policy. I didn't insert the link, I merely fixed a messed up code. --BiT 15:00, 11 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Death Note L Falling.png)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Death Note L Falling.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 02:35, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"Arucard" Masquerade

[edit]

This circle-reversion with user 76.166.143.145 is starting to wear very thin. He has been warned several times as well as being blocked twice for violation of the three-revert rule without response, and continues to ignore the comments made by others to dispute the matter within the discussion page. Not only has he failed to provide suitable evidence to back his "Konami" claims, but he fails to proofread the article in addition to scrambling all the non-English words into ???? marks.

Schrödinger (i,e: John F. T. Cashin) and I agree that we should bring attention to his status as a member if he continues making the same perpetrations as he has been. I propose that should we need to revert his vandalism again, we bring attention for a request for comment or discussion on the matter if we can, and include it in the edit summary so others can can help pass judgment. What do you think? - Gazdakka Gizbang 14:33, 22 June 2007 (EST)

Lol pass judgement. You sound like Mikami Teru. But yes, he is a nuisance, and quite honestly it's annoying the way he continuously adds "and many people think that Arucards' name is Alucard, but it's not.."- people have reached a consensus that his name IS in fact Alucard (it just doesn't make sense otherwise), and if he disagrees he should take it to the discussion page. I say if he does it one or two more times, we request that he be blocked? What say you? --BiT 05:30, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Totally don't mind. I should have added that when I made it, it's just the page at button masher really annoyed me (I'm the one who added the Template:Articleissues at the top). It's all good. JohnnyMrNinja 17:57, 8 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:TeruMikamiDeathNote.JPG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:TeruMikamiDeathNote.JPG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Fair use disputed for Image:Image:Death Note L Death.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Image:Death Note L Death.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 08:25, 30 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Death_Note_Naomi_Misora.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Death_Note_Naomi_Misora.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

I have tagged Image:Death_Note_L_Death.png as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. Motto of the day

[edit]

Hello, I notice you're using one of the {{motd}} templates, run by Wikipedia:Motto of the day. You may have noticed that some of the mottos recently have been followed by a date from 2006, or on occasion simply "Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia". The reason for this is that Motto of the day is in some very serious need of help. Participation in the project, which has never been especially high, has dropped considerably over this past summer, to the point we have had several days where no motto was scheduled to appear at all. Over the past several weeks, I've been the only editor scheduling mottos at all, but there aren't enough comments on some of these mottos to justify their use. If we do not get some help - and soon - your daily mottos will stop. In order for us to continue updating these templates for you, we need your help.

When you get a chance between your normal editing, could you stop by our nominations page and leave a few comments on some of the mottos there, especially those that do not have any comments yet? This works very simply; you read a motto, decide whether or not you like it, and post your opinion just below the motto. That's it - no experience required, just an idea of what you personally like and what you feel reflects Wikipedia and its community. If you do have past experience with the project, then please close some of the older nominations once they've got a decent consensus going. There are directions on the nominations page on how to do this.

If you have any questions, please let me know, or post on the project's talk page. I'm looking forward to reading your comments on the suggested mottos, and any additional suggestions you'd like to make. Until then, happy editing! Hersfold (t/a/c) 02:48, 4 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It is broken all over Wikipedia since you replaced MONTH with MANUDUR in the English language Wikipedia. Probably you wanted to change it in the Icelandic Wikipedia. I can't revert it myself since the template is protected. Thank you! -- 77.189.88.52 (talk) 15:55, 13 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your question about figure

Concerning your question about the figure at elementary calculus, you can see my text at arXiv:0811.0164 for more details. I am currently very busy with a visitor, but if you have additional questions I can try to answer them. Best of luck, Katzmik (talk) 11:44, 8 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I beg your pardon? I not really sure what you mean --BiT (talk) 19:27, 8 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I am referring to the arXiv, which is an archive of scientific publications run by Cornell university. Katzmik (talk) 07:47, 9 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oh sorry that I didn't understand you the first time, I found that publication via Google and downloaded it. It was really helpful and explained this in a rather fun way. --BiT (talk) 09:01, 9 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, File:Shinigami Eyes.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. AfD nomination of List of autological words

[edit]

I have nominated List of autological words, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of autological words (3rd nomination). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. An article you created maybe deleted soon: Tools which can help you

[edit]

The article you created: List of autological words may be deleted from Wikipedia.

There is an ongoing debate about whether your article should be deleted here:

The faster you respond on this page, the better chance the article you created can be saved.

Finding sources which mention the topic of your article is the very best way to avoid an article being deleted {{Findsources3}}:

Find sources for List of autological words: google news recent, google news old, google books, google scholar, NYT recent, NYT old, a9, msbooks, msacademic ...You can then cite these results in the Article for deletion discussion.

Also, there are several tools and helpful editors on Wikipedia who can help you:

  1. List the page up for deletion on Article Rescue Squadron. You can get help listing your page on the Article Rescue Squadron talk page.
  2. You can request a mentor to help explain all of the complex rules that editors use to get a page deleted: Wikipedia:Adopt-a-User. But don't wait for a mentor to respond to you before responding on the article for deletion page.
  3. When trying to delete a page, veteran editors love to use a lot of rule acronyms. Don't let these acronyms intimidate you.
Here is a list acronyms you can use yourself: WP:Deletion debate acronyms which may support the page you created being kept.
  4. You can vote to merge the article into a larger or better established article on the same topic.

If your page is deleted, you still have many options available. Good luck! travb (talk) 03:49, 15 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Tampopo

[edit]

In Japanese, nasals assimilate. 'ン' can sound like n, m, or ng depending on what sound follows it. Some romanization systems would write that word as 'tanpopo', but the movie is known in the English-speaking world as Tampopo, so that's the title of the article. File permission problem with File:Jibun.jpg

[edit]
File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Jibun.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MBisanz talk 04:09, 26 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Repr

[edit]

The article Repr has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Do we really need an article of every function in a programming language? Not notable.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. noq (talk) 14:02, 2 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I posted an answer to your mounting issue on WP:RD/Computing#Problem with mounting in Linux, can't edit files. I'd be curious to know if my suggestion works. Shadowjams (talk) 03:11, 10 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
