Welcome

[edit]

Hello BigD527, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions to things windy and things presidential. I visited Harvard a few years ago and loved the place. Enjoy your time there, and enjoy your time here, on Wikipedia. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes (~~~~) produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!

Request for edit summary

[edit]

Hi. I am a bot, and I am writing to you with a request. I would like to ask you, if possible, to use edit summaries a bit more often when you contribute. The reason an edit summary is important is because it allows your fellow contributors to understand what you changed; you can think of it as the "Subject:" line in an email. For your information, your current edit summary usage is 1% for major edits and 8% for minor edits. (Based on the last 150 major and 12 minor edits in the article namespace.)

This is just a suggestion, and I hope that I did not appear impolite. You do not need to reply to this message, but if you would like to give me feedback, you can do so at the feedback page. Thank you, and happy edits, Mathbot 00:00, 26 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:Niptuck0001.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator.

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you have questions about copyright tagging of images, post on Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags or User talk:Carnildo/images. 05:27, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

Television episode articles

[edit]

Hey, in case you haven't read this article before, it's a good review on the accepted guidelines for articles about individual episodes. The main point of it is that articles should be very synoptic in order to avoid fancruft. Jtrost (T | C | #) 04:27, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:NipTuck007.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Revert on Wikipedia

[edit]

Your reversion of my edit to Wikipedia was incorrect. I removed the template you restored because it was being deleted, as stated in the edit summary. Please be more careful when reverting, even to articles that are frequent vandal targets. Opabinia regalis 02:42, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Either the vandalism was to a transcluded template, or there was a browser cache issue. Look at your diff above - the only change was to restore a nonexistent template. Opabinia regalis 03:04, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nip/Tuck

[edit]

Hello! I have decided to work on Nip/Tuck episode article pages--I have started putting Infoboxes slowly but surely. I do not, however, have copies of the episodes which I can use to start creating plot summaries. I've noticed that you started a number of the episode articles that have summaries thus far, so I was wondering if I could entice you to start writing up further episodes? Orphaned non-free image (Image:NipTuck007.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:NipTuck007.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 08:44, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just wanted to let you know about this discussion. As I mention, I am not raising the fact that you removed it, just whether it is in fact true and should be in her article. F Mita 11:37, 30 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Template:X-Files seasons

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Template:X-Files seasons requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to American Idol, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Twitter is not considered a reliable source for such information. File:102 1267.jpg listed for deletion

[edit]

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, File:102 1267.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Files for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. Thank you for uploading File:Syxx_and_DAnna_on_the_bed.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Chris G Bot (talk) 00:14, 5 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Notification of automated file description generation

[edit]

Your upload of File:Abby the black Bombay Cat (2006).jpg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks! Notice

The article List of Nip/Tuck characters has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Pure fancruft. Long, in-universe fictography. Does not meet NLIST. No showing of notability for these characters as a group. All relevant information already covered in Nip/Tuck.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 09:00, 16 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
