My concern about your username[edit]
Hello, Bijikurdistan, and welcome to Wikipedia!
I hope not to seem unfriendly or make you feel unwelcome, but I noticed your username, and am concerned that it might not meet Wikipedia's username policy. After you look over that policy, could we discuss that concern here?
I'd appreciate learning your own views, for instance your reasons for wanting this particular name, and what alternative username you might accept that avoids raising this concern.
You have several options freely available to you:
- If you can relieve my concern through discussing it here, I can stop worrying about it.
- If the two of us can't agree here, we can ask for help through Wikipedia's dispute resolution process, such as asking for a "third opinion", or requesting comments from other Wikipedians. Wikipedia administrators usually abide by agreements reached through this process.
- You can keep your contributions history under a new username. Visit Wikipedia:Changing username and follow the guidelines there.
Let me reassure you that my writing here means I don't think your username is grossly, blatantly, or obviously inappropriate; such names get reported straight to Wikipedia:Usernames for administrator attention or blocked on sight. This is more a case where opinions might differ, and it would be good to reach some consensus — either here or at Wikipedia:Requests for comment/User names. - I haven't chosen this username to offend anyone. It means "long live Kurdistan" and it's just a phrase common to all Kurds to express pride for the region of which they came from. I wouldn't feel offended either if your username was "Yaşasın Türkiye" ;).--Bijikurdistan 21:46, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
- I would be "bugged" by either username. They posses a political message which is in vilation of WP:U. A "Long live the United Kingdom" or "Long live anything" will lead to problems. For example a "long live kurdistan" implies "death to Turkey/Armenia/Syria/Iraq/Iran/Etc... -- Cat chi? 21:50, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
- I don't agree. There is nothing wrong with being proud of a region and it doesn't have to be political at all. As you may know the northern part of Iraq is called the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, if someone expresses their pride for that region does that mean he has to hate the other part of Iraq? If someone says long live Turkey does he have to imply death to Kurdistan? By the way I am born in Istanbul and I love that city too, a lot of my relatives live there. POV Zaza_people, Zazaki language[edit]
You added the POV templates to these two pages. An editor has been removing them, as I have been re adding them. Could you please re-review these articles and add the templates back to the sections in which you feel violate the POV policy. I see you have already explained your position on the talk page and I thank you for that. If you could, please look over these articles as I doubt anything has been changed.
