Alumni listings[edit]

If these people are legitimately notable, then create articles about them that meet WP:N. Then, and only then, they go in the listing for their alma maters. Not everybody who works for a production company becomes notable when that company's production wins an Emmy, for example. --Orange Mike | Talk 12:11, 30 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Orange Mike, or who ever you are. Bill Tarkulich (talk) 12:36, 30 May 2013 (UTC)I disagree. You are turning this into a tremendous amount of work. Ostensibly this could turn into a career, as one article begets another article begets another article. argument. There is still no specific, accepted (by whom?) criteria for "notable." I only see one example so far. This is incredibly subjective. You have a definition, I have another. Where is the authoritative definition of "notable", accepted by the Wiki community? Lastly, I don't plan to make this into a career. It's something I tacitly have done on the side. I've become the de-facto historian for our college, recognized by the Grahm community. I don't have time to debate this ad infinitum.[reply]

The criteria are where they always are, at WP:BIO. Bill, it's not like I'm hostile to GJC; I have a junior college degree myself, from a school with fewer documentably notable alumni than GJC! But our standards are our standards. --Orange Mike | Talk 14:59, 30 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

As a subject matter expert, I'll continue to share the knowledge and expertise into our Alumni web site instead of spending time debating the efforts of well-intended contributors. Boston Globe references for Grahm Junior College[edit]

Hi: I am wondering whether you ever log in, or maybe are still signed up for e-mail notifications? As I noted at Talk:Grahm Junior College, your efforts in referencing the article were admirable, but unfortunately you didn't give us the titlesof the newspaper articles and I don't have access to the archives. I have copies of all articles referenced. Ill get to them when time permits, though that will not be until march or april. At this point i have the most xomplete and authoritative history, having met with many former faculty and staff and hundreds of alumni. I don't have much interest in turning my writing into an exhaustive, well documented wiki. I will work on it when prioritys permit.
