Imortal Sadness

[edit]

Hey, Biozaard! I am writing to suggest a few improvements to the Imortal Sadness article that you have been developing. I can see that you're quite a new Wikipedian (welcome!), so the first thing to do I would suggest is to read carefully through the Wikipedia Tutorial. This should give you the basic idea of the editing standards of Wikipedia. After that, you can always refer to the Editing Wikipedia help section for more elaborate presentation.

After that I suggest you take a look at several other articles on similar topic - basically, any article about a musical band would be great. I recommend looking at major bands (e.g. The Prodigy, Red Hot Chili Peppers), because they usually get a lot of attention and hence are usually kept in line with the standards. After reading the articles, you can see how they are formatted, and what is different to the article you are editing. You can then try and format your article in a somewhat similar way. If you need help, do not hesitate to ask, either me at my talk page, or just put a {{helpme}} tag on your talk page along with the question, and someone will soon help you!

Finally, just a few tips: it's usually good to sign your edits at talk pages by adding four tildes (~~~~) or simply pressing the "signature" button on toolbar. Leaving an edit summary in the box just above the "Submit page" button is VERY helpful for other users to track changes to the page. Section headings do not need to be linkified, whereas article content which may have articles on them (e.g. Techno) are good candidates for linkification. Again, read help on editing - it's extensive and very interesting!

Best luck with editing! Gimlei 12:01, 4 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

help request

[edit]

Please do not place the {{helpme}} template on any page other than this, your own talk page. Your question is particularly vague, what part of cleanup are you having problems with? If you just want a general view of our style guidelines then please see the manual of style --pgk 20:22, 4 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well It seems that I do not understand what part of a "Band" article I am missing. Currentally that is all the avalible information.

Well I'd take a look at WP:BAND for information on what is considered notable for a band and make sure that anything which makes them notable is covered off. Also from the talk page of the article "Basically, the article needs to be formatted according to the standard format of the musical band entry (infobox, band members, history, discography, etc). Other issues that need to be addressed are spelling and wikification.". Generally requirements are no original research and neutral point of view which both call for reliable sources to be cited for any information contained in the article.--pgk 20:35, 4 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:ADCLOGO.JPG)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:ADCLOGO.JPG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. March Against Fear (Band) --- (I NEED HELP)

[edit]

I am not trying to put irrelivant information up on wikipedia, if people would read the History of the page, it says, I need help and it isn't finished yet. So I feel it does not fit the criteria for Sppedy Deletion. --TANK 20:49, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed the speedy deletion notice, for now. Please look at our notability guidelines for musicians and ensembles; if the band doesn't meet the criteria, it will probably be deleted anyway, sooner or later. Regards, Mike Rosoft 20:59, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:MarchAgainstLogo.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:MarchAgainstLogo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:46, 7 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Another editor has added the {{prod}} template to the article Top Tobacco, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.
