A tag has been placed on your user page, User:Birth Stewart & Fletcher Orthodontics, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be blatant advertising which only promotes or publicises a company, product, group or service, and which is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages; user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

If you can indicate why the page is not blatant advertising, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: Click here to contest this speedy deletion which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy deletion candidate). Doing so will take you to your user talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also edit this page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would help make it encyclopedic. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. BoxOfChickens (talk · contribs · CSD/ProD log) 15:59, 6 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

January 2016[edit]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing, because this account has been used only for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to Wikipedia's content policy. Also, your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group, which is against Wikipedia's policy: an account is for an individual, not a group. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a free advertising service.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of this page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. BethNaught (talk) 16:00, 6 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I was editing the business page for Birth Stewart Fletcher and had linked to their site. I would like this account to be unblocked so that I can re-edit with only the factual business information and accounting of that business. I was in the process of learning the guidelines and mistakingly hit save thinking that it would not be live at that point. I was mistaken and would like the opportunity to add factual information about this business void of opinion or advertisementBirth Stewart & Fletcher Orthodontics (talk) 16:28, 6 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Please follow the instructions in the block message for proposing a new username. Oh, and you weren't editing "the business page for Birth Stewart Fletcher", because there is no such thing - what you were doing was adding blatantly promotional material to your user page, so you will really need to address that too if you wish to be unblocked. Request reason:

I just want to say that i am truly sorry for adding blatantly promotional material to my user page. I now fully and completely understand what I am being blocked for, and I promise that I will not do it again. Upon being blocked I have looked further into other wikipedia business related pages and now have a firm concept of what should be, and is acceptable as far as content. I will only include factual information that is non-opinion based and non-promotional. I ask that this be unblocked so that I might try again to create a better page that is fully compliant with the wikipedia guidelines - I will reference them much more heavily if given the opportunity. I do appreciate your time on this.

Decline reason:

Firstly, you need to change your username to a name that is unconnected to any organisation or product, so for your next unblock request you should use the text:
{{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}

Secondly, I am unconvinced that you should be editing articles where you have a significant conflict of interest. PhilKnight (talk) 22:00, 6 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I believe that I was operating under the assumption that the user name should be the title name for the page and for that I am sorry as well. Please pardon my ignorance - I am working on this for the first time and I really have no conflict of interest. I am just trying to create the page according to the guidelines that wikipedia has lined out and will be much more diligent in the future. I would really appreciate the opportunity to correct this issue if given the chance.

Decline reason:

You will not be unblocked in order to write about your employer/business/client. That you do not see a conflict of interest between your employer's/client's/business's interest and Wikipedia's is a much more serious issue. MER-C 07:41, 7 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
