Can you explain why this information warrants its own article, as opposed to a section within Operation Herrick? Operation Herrick already seems to be a fairly narrow topic; splitting off individual elements from it seems unnecessary. —ShadowRanger (talk|stalk) 18:25, 19 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Part of my concern is that it appears to be a single source article. It would be equally informative to link the single reference you've provided in the External Links section from Operation Herrick. The article seems to be mostly a paraphrase of its references. —ShadowRanger (talk|stalk) 18:28, 19 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The Operation Herrick page seems to be attempting to be a factual history of Operation Herrick. The thing is this, the strategy for Herrick will change over time, and bears no relation to the missions planned and actually conducted on the ground. Along with the Rules of Engagement, it is the aiming post that helps shape the missions and engagements, and is logically separate from the actual ground truth. The actual strategy for Herrick will not be public and can never be public, the official statements made by Gordon Brown on the "strategy" are riddled with politics. I'm currently unpicking the politics and statements of actual missions from the substance of the strategy which is rather cleverly hidden. I've tried not to paraphrase the reference and I've tried to re-group the literature into the seven questions process followed by the military to begin to get a feel for that strategy. I have not actually finished, but got distracted, and I thought I had saved as a draft not as an actual page! Ops springs to mind.--Bizzle1234 (talk) 11:36, 29 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Disambiguation link notification for December 28[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Systems thinking, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Open System. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
