Notable Residents[edit]

Hey Blackhawk, welcome aboard. Hope you like it here... it can be a rewarding and sometimes a very odd place. I see you already have a user page... in the freewheeling spirit of Wikipedia, take a half hour or so and visit others' pages, and feel free to steal liberally from them or from anywhere else for that matter, and dress up your page. My page is about 98% stolen content. It's fun.

Anyway, I wish I could give you a straight answer to your question, but I'm afraid there's no easy answer. There's probably a rule or policy or whatever somewhere in Wikiland, but in my experience the Notable Residents sections fall into 3 categories: (1) pages that need the residents to be sourced (not common); (2) pages that only "require" that there be a Wiki article about the resident (very common); and (3) pages that just have residents listed (probably very common, I don't know). The Upper East Side page last year had a couple of editors who tried to enforce the (1) rule, and the NR list dwindled to two residents. The Provincetown, Massachusetts page has a robust list of NRs, most of whom are easily recognizable P-Town people. I'm constantly removing non-notable summer visitors and other oddballs from this list. But I only have so much time.

The Westwood page has fewer than 30 watchers, so you probably won't get much argument. Remember, WP:BB! Best wishes, --Seduisant (talk) 00:56, 26 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
