Regarding appropriate pages at Wikipedia

Some reading you may want to do before you try to create a new page at Wikipedia:

• Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not. Wikipedia is not a free-for-all. Pages that exist here do so because they meet basic minimum standards for the sorts of subjects which the Wikipedia community has deemed as valid subjects for an encyclopedia.
• Wikipedia:Notability covers, in general terms, what sorts of subjects generally are important enough to merit an article. There are currently 6,843,304 at Wikipedia, so the standards are not so hard to meet as to preclude having lots of articles about lots of things. However, the threshold for starting a new article is NOT merely "it exists". It has to do more than exist, it has to be notable enough, based on the standards outlined above.
• In general, its a bad idea to dive right in to creating new articles. That is probably the single hardest thing to do at Wikipedia. Instead, start small by cleaning up existing articles. You can find and correct spelling mistakes, expand articles in need of help, or do some small work first. After you get a feel for how Wikipedia works, then you can think about creating a new article. But doing so on your first day here generally goes poorly.
