Josep Colomer[edit]

Hello! A couple of phrases which may be regarded as peacock terms:

  • a prolific and versatile author
  • he has innovatively used game theory

Please try to write in a neutral tone. Thanks. MSGJ (talk) 20:05, 17 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove the reference to Josep Maria de Porcioles i Colomer at the top of the page. It is there so that if someone just typed in Josep Colomer and was looking for Josep Maria de Porcioles i Colomer then they know where to look. Thanks. Jons63 (talk) 10:04, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Josep Colomer. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. Jons63 (talk) 11:29, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I still don't understand the problem with having the hat natnote at the top of the page, I understand that you do not believe anyone will mistake the two, but since the articles have the same and last name then they might get mistaken and that is what it is there for.
You are correct that the article was wikified and I have removed the tag.
As far as inline citations, what that is referring to is to annotate in the article which of the references go with which part of the text, if you look at the article on Peter Bussian, you will see small numbers in the text that correspond to the references below. Jons63 (talk) 03:52, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I HAVE ADDED INLINE CITATIONS, ACCORDING TO THE NORMS IN THE EXAMPLE ARTICLE YOU MENTIONED. HOIPE YOU ACCEPT IT AND CAN REMOVE THE TAG. REGARDING PORCIOLES, I REPEAT THAT THE TWO PERSONS HAVE NOT THE SAME LAST NAMES. TO PRESUME THAT SOMEBODY LOOKING FOR MAYOR PORCIOLES WOULD WRITE JOSEP M. COLOMER IS LIKE TO ASSUME THAT SOMEBODY LOOKING FOR THE CURRENT PRESIDENT OF THE U.S. WOULD WRITE 'GEORGE WALKER'. PLEASE TRY TO UNDERSTAND THAT LAST NAMES IN SPANISH (AS IN CATALAN, THIS CASE, FRENCH, ITALIAN, ETC.) ARE DIFFERENT FROM USES IN ENGLISH.

I can accept that what you are saying is probably right, but I don't see the harm in keeping it there anyway. As Jesop Colomer is in the title of both people there is the slight possibility for confusion among people who don't know how he is normally called! If George Bush was called George Bush Walker then I would suggest a dablink at the top of George Walker! MSGJ (talk) 08:43, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
PS, there is no need to write in capitals, and also please sign your name after your talkpage posts by typing 4 tildes (~~~~). Thanks, MSGJ (talk) 08:46, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Precisely! If the US president were called George Bush Walker you would be right to add that mention for another George Walker, but you don't do it because he is called George W. Bush. Please try to understand the parallel with the ex-mayor: Bush = Porcioles (father's last name and the only name used), Walker = Colomer (mother's last name, almost never used). In other words, to include the ex-mayor in the professor article is like if, at the top of the article on 'George W. Bush, president of the US' you would include a reference: 'For another person whatever, see George Walker'. Nobody looking for the president of the US would write 'George Walker', right? So the reference is ridiculous. Uses of last names in most Latin languages are the opposite to uses in English!! I think for a person in charge of biographies of non-American people you should try to understand this.

Could you also remove the tag about internal links, since I added in-text citations?

Please take this discussion to the talk page of the article. Thank you. MSGJ (talk) 07:09, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 09:09, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Josep Colomer[edit]

Hello, I see you suggested ("demanded"!) some changes on the talk page. Why don't you make those edits yourself? I added the accent because one of your sources shows the name with an accent. If this is incorrect, you can move it back to the name without the accent. MSGJ (talk) 15:24, 25 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Yes, the accent is incorrect, I was not aware of another source made the same error. I dont't now how to edit the article title, could you please help me on this and remove the accent? Thank you BlancaBlanca.heredia (talk) 21:14, 27 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
