Welcome[edit]

Hi,

First of all, welcome to Wikipedia. I never greeted anyone, I know I should send a bit of links to encyclopedical guidelines and stuff. Frankly, I don't feel like looking for it, maybe later.

In short, the rules boil down to:

- no original research, so no: "this experiment gave different results in my basement", or: "I talked with the author of this book and he told me otherwise", we write books or the websites from which our knowledge comes, this way wikipedia becomes sum of human knowledge, assuming the books are writing the truth;

- be kind to other wikipedians, do not assume they are mean and only write what they are being paid for;

- after three times of pushing something back and forth we freeze the issue and not allow to change it anymore. So like in "Gone with the Wind" it ends with something like "After all, there is another day tomorrow" and in Polish wikipedia it is written it ends "After all tomorrow there is a day, too" and I change it to "After all, there is next day tomorrow" and they change it back, arguing "it's the translation in the book which counts", and I change it again to "After all, there is next day tomorrow", they change it again to what it says in the Polish book, then I can only change it one more time and after they change it again the issue is closed.

Heck, I think I did the introduction to wikipedia faster than if I had looked for proper links. :)

Oh, and in the discussion pages we sign with four tildas ~, which results in writing your nickname and date. MichalZim (talk) 12:58, 5 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Mutant Year Zero[edit]

Now why I am writing to you:

You changed my text about reception of Mutant Year Zero a bit. It seems you were right about changing tense; soon the reviews mentioned will be two years old. Also, I introduced Game Informer's reviewer in the first paragraph and only later I wrote his name is Jeff Marchiafava. You are right we can write it earlier. Thank you.

However:

1) You changed "The reviewers generally agree, that the game is very satisfying" to "Reviewers generally agreed that the game was satisfying to play". Well, one of the reviewers writes about "immensely satisfying tactical experience" the other wrote: "nothing beats the thrill of (...)"; I think I could write "very satisfying".

2) You moved Jeff Marchiafava to next sentence and wrote he agreed: "Jeff Marchiafava from Game Informer agreed, writing that >>nothing beats the thrill of chaining together a series of stuns and silent attacks (...)<<" Well, we wrote before that they agreed: "Reviewers generally agreed that the game was satisfying to play", you see? And after that we wrote which of the reviewers write what, in one sentence, separated with commas (",") that's the idea, well, that was my idea, actually, I think it was fine.

3) "He claims that the story is not >>breaking<<" - you sort of cut it, meanwhile the reviewer actually wrote it: "Mutant Year Zero’s story isn’t breaking any new ground". Ok, I will improve it and change to: "breaking any new ground".

4) "He has an impression >>the story feels like it’s missing a third act<< (which is because there is an expansion to the game)" - you cut that impression of missing end results from additional expansion existing.

Yours sincerely, MichalZim (talk) 13:11, 5 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
