Your submission at Articles for creation: Castore (May 17)[edit]

Your recent article submission has been rejected. If you have further questions, you can ask at the Articles for creation help desk or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help. The reason left by Robert McClenon was: This topic is not sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia. The comment the reviewer left was:

This draft is written from the viewpoint of the company, focusing on what the company says about itself. Corporate notability is based on what independent reliable sources have written about the subject.

Not every business corporation is notable, and this draft does not establish corporate notability. You may ask for advice about corporate notability at the Teahouse.

This draft has been Rejected by a reviewer in the Articles for Creation review process. DO NOT resubmit this draft or attempt to resubmit this draft or prepare or submit a draft that is substantially the same as this draft without discussing the reasons for the rejection. You may request a discussion with the rejecting reviewer, or you may request a discussion with the community at the Teahouse. A discussion will not necessarily agree to a resubmission. If this draft is resubmitted, or an attempt is made to resubmit this draft or an equivalent draft, without addressing the reasons for the Rejection, a topic-ban or a partial block may be requested against the submitting editor, and the draft may be nominated for deletion.

You may ask for advice about Rejection at the Teahouse.

This draft was declined as not showing corporate notability and with a question about conflict of interest. The question about conflict of interest said not to resubmit this draft without answering the question. This draft was resubmitted with only minimal changes, not providing additional third-party coverage of corporate notability, and without addressing the question of conflict of interest.

Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, Bluegene18. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. ThatMontrealIP (talk) 23:42, 17 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

There is no conflict of interest here. Castore are the major headline in UK news at the moment and will probably be one of the biggest sports companies in the world within the next ten years. They do not currently have a Wikipedia article and it is pretty self-evident that that needs to be rectified. Bluegene18 (talk) 08:35, 18 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If you do not have a conflict of interest, it is a good idea to pay attention to the advice of more experienced editors, and to expand a draft before resubmitting it, rather than resubmitting it repeatedly with minimal changes. You have been editing like a single-purpose account whose only objective is to get an article listed. Robert McClenon (talk) 14:41, 18 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
As you can see, your draft has been Rejected, so that Castore is unlikely to have an article in the next few months. Robert McClenon (talk) 14:42, 18 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The draft was modified to include yet more references to highlight notability, although the suggestion that Castore do not meet 'notability' requirements would surely seem odd to any reviewer residing in the UK. Bluegene18 (talk) 18:19, 18 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Important notice[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in post-1932 politics of the United States and closely related people. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.
