If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on TD Canada Trust (Green Machine), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think that your page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Ducknish (talk) 20:58, 14 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Some advice

[edit]

Ok, I'll try and be reasonably gentle here: the Green Machine article was nowhere close to an encyclopedia article, and literally had to be deleted ASAP. Let me try and give you a few pointers:

  • any time your only sources are from that company, it's WP:SPAM
  • any time you start listing features, it's WP:SPAM
  • any time you use WP:PEACOCK terms, it's WP:SPAM
  • any time you include the company name in the title, it's usually WP:SPAM

It is actually possible that an article on Green Machine could be viable, if:

  • you can prove that it was the very first set of ABM's in Canada
  • you can prove that the introduction of ABM's was an important step in Canadian banking
  • you can prove the above without ever linking to TD's website and use carefully selected reliable sources instead
  • you might need to make a more generic ABMs in Canada article instead, and discuss the evolution - with linkages to White Label ABMs in Canada - and feature TD's ABM system as part of an overall evolution instead of a separate Green Machine article

I'll be watching here for any reply should you need assistance with the rules and policies around here (✉→BWilkins←✎) 11:21, 17 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
