No trouble at all. Deletion can only be done by administrators, however you can tag pages for deletion. Tools like Twinkle semi-automate the tagging process: but it only works if you use any browser besides Internet Explorer 8 and below. →Bmusician 04:22, 12 May 2012 (UTC)

Request

Hi Bmusician, TheSpecialUser (talk · contribs) is an adoptee of yours, a new editor who is very enthusiastic about seeing certain articles promoted to the GA level. With this goal, he has already made five GA nominations, a handful even for experienced editors. Unfortunately, he seems to be having difficulty writing English prose, either idiomatically or grammatically, at the GA level. He's been making changes in these articles that are either plainly ungrammatical (such as this) or perplexing (such as this). I left a couple of messages for him on the articles' talk pages, but I'm afraid, I'm not expressing myself with tact, and he may have simply ignored my message (which was to focus his attentions for now on short articles and DYK nominations). What is most likely to happen with the GANs is that they will not be reviewed; then, others will have to clean up after him. About GA noms, I have made only 2 noms (British Raj, without doing constructive work and Jallianwala Bagh massacre, with constructive work)

Oh, it wasn't a case of relisting, as the result was clear, but what happened is that he closed the AfD, renamed the article, and didn;t put any of the templates for closed AfDs on it, so now the linkage is messed up because of the rename. MSJapan (talk) 03:16, 15 May 2012 (UTC)

Sorry for not being clear. I meant that you should encourage him to relist AFD's, rather than to close them, and that he should use this script. Re: adoptions/copyright

I think that a matter many new enthusiasic editors have trouble understanding are the issues of copyright/attribution/paraphrasing/etc. I am not sure how this is covered in your school (which, btw, I think is an amazingly great way to educate 'young' editors in the way of the Wiki) but wanted to mention it here in the light of this which resulted in this and this. New Page Triage/New Pages Feed

Hey all :). A notification that the prototype for the New Pages Feed is now live on enwiki! We had to briefly take it down after an unfortunate bug started showing up, but it's now live and we will continue developing it on-site.

The page can be found at Special:NewPagesFeed. Please, please, please test it and tell us what you think! Note that as a prototype it will inevitably have bugs - if you find one not already mentioned at the talkpage, bring it up and I'm happy to carry it through to the devs. The same is true of any additions you can think of to the software, or any questions you might have - let me know and I'll respond.

Relisting at AfD

Hi Bmusician. I'm a little concerned by your relists at AfD. You seem to have gone through and relisted quite a few that didn't need relisting, at least one had been relisted more than enough times for a BLP and has since been deleted and another looked like it had more than enough commentary. Hi Worm. Thank you for your concern. I know this relist was clearly not right– because the article itself is an unsourced BLP. What I should have done was wait for an admin to make the decision. Relisting should only be done when consensus is not clear enough. And I try to only close debates which are either a clear keep or a non-consensus WP:NPASR. →Bmusician 12:43, 23 May 2012 (UTC)

There's also this, this and this just today - all of which could have sufficient consensus to be deleted by an admin - and of course one by your adoptee, which has very detailed discussion. Articles for Creation is backlogged and needs YOUR help! Articles for Creation is desperately in need of reviewers! We are looking for urgent help, from experienced editors and administrators alike, to help us clear a record backlog of pending submissions.
