What is broken? The bot has archived your page in the past. What are you attempting to have happen, and what is (or isn't) happening? Primefac (talk) 12:09, 15 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Primefac, Thank you for the reply.
The archive didn't connect to the box, the archive of dated, like I tried to make it, but the box is numbered.
And, bizarrely, it only appeared in a brief window when I deleted the code for the bot (check the edits before sand after the bot's edit on the history for this page). So I don't think it'll work next time?

Just a suggestion: copy the archive configuration from someone who has it working on their user page. Coming up with your own interpretation of the template's parameters sometimes will lead you astray.
It would also help if you explained, in words, what you want to happen and what - with your current single, date-based archive file - is not working the way you want. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 02:52, 16 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Jmcgnh @Primefac
It only worked when I deleted it, so I was worried it wouldn't keep working, but it seems 0k.
So the only problem I have is the archive name not matching the box. I think I might also prefer to remove the search box and have just an index of you know how?

Sorry, but "worked" seems too vague for us to be able to help much.
I don't think |numberstart=Archive2024/April is working for you. It's expecting a number.
There is a lot of flexibility in the archiving system(s), both for the bot to choose what to archive and where to put it, AND for how to display the existing archives so readers can find things. You have an index in place, so it's not a big deal that the archive box is not displaying the list of existing archives. They're easy enough for someone to find. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 05:06, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please read through the documentation for ClueBot. |numberstart= should be used with a number; you should instead have |prefix=Archive2024/April, though I suspect you'll want to use some of the special characters to automatically advance the month and year as time passes. This is all described in the default configuration. If you want numbered archives, then I would suggest moving the existing archive to User talk:BottleOfSoup/Archive 1 and letting the bot continue on. Primefac (talk) 06:10, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Primefac thanks, I world prefer dates, but numbers sounds like a much easier fix? I'll try that first… BottleOfSoup (talk) 19:32, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
