April 2009[edit]

Please do not introduce incorrect information into articles, as you did to Rachelle Lefevre. Your edits appear to be vandalism and have been reverted. If you believe the information you added was correct, please cite references or sources or discuss the changes on the article's talk page before making them again. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. Ward3001 (talk) 01:52, 28 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Jessica1.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Jessica1.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 16:31, 13 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

June 2009[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved without good reason. They need to have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. We have some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Alexis Colby[edit]

It is completely unacceptable that you made this controversial move without a discussion. Alexis Colby is this character's common name. If I can't have the page restored, I will open a case to move it back. Bad move.— TAnthonyTalk 01:45, 5 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

shure thanx g2g. --Twilight 90210 (talk) 02:19, 6 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add commentary or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Miley Stewart. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you. NrDg 23:46, 7 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Miley Stewart picture[edit]

Hi. I like the new version of this picture you uploaded. But please remember to update the "Source" field. The source for the old version is still used. Thanks.

Pigby (talk) 01:53, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for "sources" tip. --Sexxxy-Silver Cullen (90210) (talk) 10:30, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome. It hasn't changed yet though. Do you need help?
Pigby (talk) 19:22, 9 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Umm... I have the source. But Where do I put it tho? --Sexxxy-Silver Cullen (90210) (talk) 23:51, 9 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Just go to the Image page. Under the heading "Summary" You will see the fields "Description" "Source" "Article" etc. That is the source field I was refering to. Just click "edit" and replace the YahooTV source with the source you have. Simple enough? :) If you need any more help just let me know.

Second warning re: page moves[edit]

Please do not move a page to a title that is harder to follow or move it unilaterally against naming conventions or consensus. This includes making page moves while a discussion remains under way. We have some guidelines to help with deciding what title is best for a subject. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. Thank you. Request reason:

It is still a popular way to refer the books too! Lots of people refer to New Moon as Twilight 2 and Eclipse as Twilight 3. Why is that a bad thing???

Decline reason:

Please see our guideline on redirects and please create them instead, so that people typing in "Twilight 2" get to "New Moon". weburiedoursecretsinthegarden 19:18, 22 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Well, for one thing, the book titles don't have hyphens in them. For another, "lots of people refer to" doesn't mean anything here -- "lots of reliable sources refer to" does, and you didn't supply any.--SarekOfVulcan (talk) 19:11, 22 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If the reviewing admin wants to end the block early, that's fine with me.--SarekOfVulcan (talk) 19:14, 22 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

An image or media file has been removed from your userpage, user talk page, or other page because it was licensed as fair use. Wikipedia's fair use policy states that Copyrighted images under fair use are only allowed to be used in articles about the subject of the image, and only if no free equivalent is available. For example they are not allowed to be used on user pages, in lists, or (typically) in biographies of living people.. As a result, although users are often given a great amount of latitude in the type of content that is allowed on their user pages, it is requested that you abide by this policy. Feel free, however, to add images and media files licensed under other terms. For more information, see Wikipedia's fair use policy and an accompanying essay on the removal of fair use images. Further use of these images will be considered vandalism, and shall be treated as such. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. NrDg 14:03, 26 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:2573 1Sadie Harrison.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:2573 1Sadie Harrison.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. NrDg 14:04, 26 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding inappropriate images to Wikipedia. If you continue, you will be blocked from editing. Don't add copyrighted images to your user page. NrDg 19:04, 26 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent addition has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. The next time you add a copyrighted image to your user page you WILL be blocked NrDg 13:57, 27 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry. I just found out. Thanks for the information but can I use Images from Wikipedia??? --14:14, 27 June 2009 (UTC)Sexxxy-Silver Cullen (90210) (talk) 14:14, 27 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
What about screenshots?--Sexxxy-Silver Cullen (90210) (talk) 14:17, 27 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No you can't use any of those. Any image with a fair use justification on the image page cannot be used in your user pages. Anything you find on wiki commons is OK and can be linked to. --NrDg 14:40, 27 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 31 hours in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for addition of copyrighted images to user pages. See above messages.. So anything on Wikimedia commons is ok? --Sexxxy-Silver Cullen (90210) (talk)
Yes - all the pictures on commons are free-use as commons only allows free-use pictures and deletes those that aren't.
Note that the purpose of wiki is to build an encyclopedia. Some leeway is allowed on user pages but remember they are not meant to be your personal web site. See wp:User page for usage guidelines. --NrDg 21:46, 27 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Why cant I edit anymore? It's been past 36 hours. -- Sexy Cullen
You are not blocked. --NrDg 20:01, 29 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Alrtight - Thanks: I have learned my lesson and accept the fact that you tried to teach me that what I did was wrong. So I jsut wanted to thank you Alot and wanted to ask you if the Sadie Harrison image that was uploaded can be added to the Sadie Harrison article that I will create. --Sexxxy-Silver Cullen (90210) (talk) 22:57, 29 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A screenshot or promotional image that can be proven to be a promotional image of a fictional character can be used for illustration in an article, and only in that article, of a fictional character. You will need to show where you got the image and show that the copyright owner released the image as a promo image. However, unless you can show that the article on that character meets WP:N standards, very hard to do for most fictional characters, the article will likely just be redirected back to the show as it is now. --NrDg 00:55, 30 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
