Brianga, It makes no sense to me why an article such as Zack Flounlacker is inappropriate and wold be deleted without even notice. This is a very respectable and highly regarded man who deserves to be cited on Wikipedia. I'm only trying to expand its database thank you. Please help me to understand

As I was searching Wikipedia, I came across People Soft http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peoplesoft. Seeing and many other companies, I created a page for our company. Assessmentcompany.com. I used the extact same structure as peoplesoft. What I'd like to understand is why my post was deleted and companies like peoplesoft are allowed to say. Seems like a double standard.

I can't opine whether it's copyright violation, (because I can't see the text of the page) but I'd like to resume writing those articles since we're collaborating. Hi, thanks for letting me back on. I just want to clear up some confusion. It's totally possible that I created Devlin v. Smith after your warning, but what probably happened was, the warning came down while I was typing up Devlin v. Smith so I didn't see it until after I saved the page. FileQube speedy deletion

 Not done I declined the speedy on FileQube because the web site is remarkable. Just because you have never heard of something or someone does not mean it is not remkarkable. CSD criteria A7 is for an article about a real person, an organization (e.g. band, club, company, or web content that does not indicate why its subject is important or significant. This is distinct from verifiability and reliability of sources, and is a lower standard than notability. This website may be non notable, but is not unremarkable. Take it to WP:PROD or WP:AFD.   • Out of curiosity, where are you getting the 'remarkable' language from? CSD A7 is used when the article "does not indicate why its subject is important or significant." Available Locksmith Inc - Page deletion

Hi Brianga,

I strongly disagree with your suggestion to delete the page 'Available Locksmith Inc'. It is a large company that operates all over the US and many people know of it.

This is not a page avertising the services of the company. It is simply company information and information relating to special keys produced by the company that is useful for anyone needing to know about the company or the specific type of keys. There is no promotional or advertising language used hence it does comply with Wikipedia's rules.

Please explain how I can re-list the information on this page for Wikipedia users to browse.

I am a direct student of GM. John Villasin and has from him been told that i can use those pictures and that text.... Now its okay with me if you delete what i write but how can you call this a wiki, if you have no real info on GM. John Villasin's farther Great GM. Atty. Jose Villasin, who was a FMA legend? You do have Bruce Lee right? What i have seen of FMA/Eskrima in your wiki is very limited at best....

I am very sure that the Villasin Balintawak does apply with your notability requirement.... GGM. Atty. Jose Villasin was a legend down here and his style known to be one of the best in Cebu and since Cebu is center for Eskrima also the world of FMA/Eskrima.... You can find that out many places online, just not Wiki...he he

I am not just talking about being good, i am saying if he is not in Wiki, then you have a missing part on FMA history since he was a big player in that and many people (besides just me) will notice that.... So if you want this to be a real Wiki, he should be a part....You even have guys from FMA currently that are less known... :)

No, thats not a poor argument, he is a FMA/Eskrima legend (RIP) and very respected by many people, because they know the difference he made to FMA history and the style it self.... But i think you are the type, who would not even think Bruce Lee had a place in Wiki, simply because of your lack of martial arts knowledge and that you are being way to picky (wiki should ban you, you are not doing anyone any favors).

Its people like you that is the reason when i search for Eskrima, Balintawak or FMA legend on your wiki i get poor info or none at all.... Just like everyone else and it shows that Wiki is not a real Wiki as i said, you have much less known guys from Eskrima/FMA in Wiki already, but nothing about some of the legends from FMA.... Thats poor info.

You by the way make everything way to complicated for everyday people wanting to use their time on post just look at your guides....

Satan in popular culture

What was the point of doing this? If the article creation was balatant vandalism, as you said in the edit summary, then how could it be right just to delink it rather than remove any reference to it? I thought administrators were chosen for their ability to exercise judgement, not to just to act like bots. Please use your brain rather than just Twinkle.   • One of the great things about Wikipedia is that one editor need not do everything - there are always other good editors, like you, to pick up on the things that another editor, such as I, might miss. I don't think that my good act (removing a link) makes me a bad editor or administrator just because I could have done a better thing (removing the reference completely). In fact, it was really all just a matter of timing. I looked in my contributions minutes after deleting the article in question and saw the link removal - I was going to delete the reference, but you had already done so. WP:Hornbook -- a new law-related task force for the J.D. curriculum

Hi Brianga/Archive 5,

I'm asking Wikipedians who are interested in United States legal articles to take a look at WP:Hornbook, the new "JD curriculum task force".

Our mission is to assimilate into Wikipedia all the insights of an American law school education, by reducing hornbooks to footnotes.

  • Over the course of a semester, each subpage will shift its focus to track the unfolding curriculum(s) for classes using that casebook around the country.
  • It will also feature an extensive, hyperlinked "index" or "outline" to that casebook, pointing to pages, headers, or {{anchors}} in Wikipedia (example).
  • Individual law schools can freely adapt our casebook outlines to the idiosyncratic curriculum devised by each individual professor.
  • I'm encouraging law students around the country to create local chapters of the club I'm starting at my own law school, "Student WP:Hornbook Editors". Using WP:Hornbook as our headquarters, we're hoping to create a study group so inclusive that nobody will dare not join.

What you can do now:

1. Add WP:Hornbook to your watchlist, {{User Hornbook}} to your userpage, and ~~~~ to Wikipedia:Hornbook/participants.
2. If you're a law student,
(You don't have to start the club, or even be involved in it; just help direct me to someone who might.)
3. Introduce yourself to me. Law editors on Wikipedia are a scarce commodity. Do knock on my talk page if there's an article you'd like help on.

I do not think my Toms shoes change was vandalism as this fast is true. I have a friend who works for the company and she has told me all about the quality they have sent over compared to the quality of the shoes people buy that are completely overpriced. I read the conflict of interest statement that you forwarded to me, and yes I do agree that I am familiar with many of the individuals listed in this organization. As its founder, I personally inducted most of these individuals into the organization. My only concern is the fact that you are essentially defining who is considered to be a "notable" individual. For the majority of the individuals whom you deleted, I have listed credible online sources that demonstrate their accomplishments (including my own - I'm Yuri Jadotte by the way - and I can provide many more link including links to my academic manuscripts listed on PubMed). Please review the sources first before deleting individuals. I can concede that not everyone on the list of notable people has credible sources listed regarding their accomplishments; however, I would like to ask you to please leave those individuals who do have credible sources on the list of "notable" people. I have revised the list accordingly based on this criteria. If you still feel that these individuals are not "notable" enough to be listed, please provide evidence of a consensus from other editors as well as your reasoning as to why the individuals listed are not considered "notable". I think that's a fair assessment.

MSU Interview

Dear Brianga,

My name is Jonathan Obar user:Jaobar, I'm a professor in the College of Communication Arts and Sciences at Michigan State University and a Teaching Fellow with the Wikimedia Foundation's Education Program. This semester I've been running a little experiment at MSU, a class where we teach students about becoming Wikipedia administrators. Not a lot is known about your community, and our students (who are fascinated by wiki-culture by the way!) want to learn how you do what you do, and why you do it. A while back I proposed this idea (the class) to the communityHERE, where it was met mainly with positive feedback. Anyhow, I'd like my students to speak with a few administrators to get a sense of admin experiences, training, motivations, likes, dislikes, etc. We were wondering if you'd be interested in speaking with one of our students.


So a few things about the interviews:

  • Interviews will last between 15 and 30 minutes.
  • Interviews can be conducted over skype (preferred), IRC or email. (You choose the form of communication based upon your comfort level, time, etc.)
  • All interviews will be completely anonymous, meaning that you (real name and/or pseudonym) will never be identified in any of our materials, unless you give the interviewer permission to do so.
  • All interviews will be completely voluntary. You are under no obligation to say yes to an interview, and can say no and stop or leave the interview at any time.
  • The entire interview process is being overseen by MSU's institutional review board (ethics review). This means that all questions have been approved by the university and all students have been trained how to conduct interviews ethically and properly.


Bottom line is that we really need your help, and would really appreciate the opportunity to speak with you. I understand but please consider this

Will you please remove the two terms "Radical" and "anti-Government" because as you suggested, you want to keep an open mind and allow people to make that decision on their own. There is no evidence to suggest that they are anti-government. That is a misconception and simply wrong. They are in-fact pro-government as long as the government abides by the constitution. Calling them anti-government is something a biased extreme leftist would say with a hidden agenda to mislead people. The word radical also implies this as well. All of which is misrepresenting their cause. It is quite simple. The oath keepers took a pledge as current and former law enforcement and military to defend the constitution of the United States. Many have faught and gave their life protecting this government and country. There is nothing anti-government about that. How can they be anti-government if they are partially comprised of government officers? It is simply wrong to have those two terms listed and as you can see, the references are MSNBC which is clearly left leaning and not following YOUR code of "unbiased" and "neutral" conduct. Please, as someone who is an oathkeeper and formerly a federal law enforcement officer, please correct this inaccuracy. Don't delete without discussion. If an edit is UNSOURCED, you can be bold and delete. However, from [Wikipedia:Content removal]: when removing a section of an article, it is necessary that it at least be explained, and in some cases, discussed. Unexplained content removal is when the reason for the removal is not obvious, and is open to being promptly reverted.: In this case, this week's source is unimpeachable: Dun & Bradstreet and your deletion falls into the category of [Wikipedia:I just don't like it]: "Wikipedia is not a business deal. It is an encyclopedia. Well-argued statements beat personal, subjective tastes". That's nothing against you, it's just that the image doesn't have clear permission yet and I'd rather take out all of the non-free images than deal with people ading new non-free ones in good faith. I won't revert again if that image returns to the article, but I think it would be far better to insist on not using images that don't have clear permission. Extended confirmed protection

Hello, Brianga. This message is intended to notify administrators of important changes to the protection policy.

Extended confirmed protection (also known as "30/500 protection") is a new level of page protection that only allows edits from accounts at least 30 days old and with 500 edits. The automatically assigned "extended confirmed" user right was created for this purpose. The protection level was created following this community discussion with the primary intention of enforcing various arbitration remedies that prohibited editors under the "30 days/500 edits" threshold to edit certain topic areas.

In July and August 2016, a request for comment established consensus for community use of the new protection level. Administrators are authorized to apply extended confirmed protection to combat any form of disruption (e.g. vandalism, sock puppetry, edit warring, etc.) on any topic, subject to the following conditions:

  • Extended confirmed protection may only be used in cases where semi-protection has proven ineffective. It should not be used as a first resort.
  • A bot will post a notification at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard of each use. MusikBot currently does this by updating a report, which is transcluded onto the noticeboard.

Please review the protection policy carefully before using this new level of protection on pages. Thank you.

It's a well known fact that Dempsey has achieved the most of any American who has competed at the highest level in Europe, as clearly shown through the amount of goals he scored and time spent playing over there. He was a two-time player of the season for Fulham FC during their course in the English Premier League, as well as a record goal scorer for them, and scored twelve goals across all competitions while he was with Tottenham. It's also a well known fact that he scored the fifth fastest goal in World Cup history. There's even a video on YouTube about the fastest goals in World Cup history. These are all facts, and you would be WRONG to think otherwise. Hi Brianga,

You have rightly corrected the insertions by User:97.87.116.23 to the Gloria Allred article. However, this user has engaged in edit warring / 3RR violations, repeatedly inserting the material after reversions by myself and User:Lourdes. Both of us have given reasons for the reversions and in my case I have discussed the situation on the talk page [here] I have also created a talk page for the anon user and left a notice to discuss the issue on the Allred talk page [here]. The anon user has ignored the rules and the notices and continues to re-insert the material. I feel that unless he/she discusses the reasons for the material and provides references it should be deleted and whatever necessary measures taken to prevent the user from re-inserting the material without obtaining consensus. A new user right for New Page Patrollers

A new user group, New Page Reviewer, has been created in a move to greatly improve the standard of new page patrolling. The user right can be granted by any admin at PERM. It is highly recommended that admins look beyond the simple numerical threshold and satisfy themselves that the candidates have the required skills of communication and an advanced knowledge of notability and deletion. Admins are automatically included in this user right.

It is anticipated that this user right will significantly reduce the work load of admins who patrol the performance of the patrollers. However,due to the complexity of the rollout, some rights may have been accorded that may later need to be withdrawn, so some help will still be needed to some extent when discovering wrongly applied deletion tags or inappropriate pages that escape the attention of less experienced reviewers, and above all, hasty and bitey tagging for maintenance. User warnings are available here but very often a friendly custom message works best.

New Page Review needs your help

Hi Brianga,

As an AfC reviewer you're probably aware that a new user right has been created for patrolling new pages (you might even have been granted the right already, and admins have it automatically).

Since July there has been a very serious backlog at Special:NewPagesFeed of over 14,000 pages, by far the worst since 2011, and we need an all out drive to get this back down to just a few hundred that can be easily maintained in the future. Unlike AfC, these pages are already in mainspace, and the thought of what might be there is quite scary. There are also many good faith article creators who need a simple, gentle push to the Tea House or their pages converted to Draft rather than being deleted.

Although New Page Reviewing can occasionally be somewhat more challenging than AfC, the criteria for obtaining the right are roughly the same. The Page Curation tool is even easier to use than the Helper Script, so it's likely that most AfC reviewers already have more than enough knowledge for the task of New Page Review.

It is hoped that AfC reviewers will apply for this right at WP:PERM and lend a hand. You'll need to have read the page at WP:NPR and the new tutorial.
