==Welcome== Hello Brianvdb and welcome to Wikipedia! I'm glad you've chosen to join us. This is a great project with lots of dedicated people, which might seem intimidating at times, but don't let anything discourage you. Be bold!, explore, and contribute. Try to be civil by following simple guidelines and signing your talk comments with ~~~~ but never forget that one of our central tenets is to ignore all rules.

If you want to learn more, Wikipedia:Tutorial is the place to go, but eventually the following links might also come in handy:
Help
FAQ
Glossary
Manual of Style

Float around until you find something that tickles your fancy. One easy way to do this is to hit the random page button in the navigation bar to the left. Additionally, the Community Portal offers a more structured way to become acquainted with the many great committees and groups that focus on specific tasks. My personal favorite stomping grounds are Wikipedia:Translation into English as well as the cleanup, welcoming, and counter-vandalism committees. Finally, the Wikimedia Foundation has several other wiki projects that you might enjoy. If you have any more questions, always feel free to ask me anything on my talk page. Again, welcome! -- Draeco 19:26, 5 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked?

[edit]

I've unblocked all three autoblockers of users I blocked earlier today, could you see if that worked? NSLE (T+C) at 10:56 UTC (2006-04-03)

Sure did! Thanks! --Brianvdb 11:00, 3 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think that perhaps we should leave the article about the transit center in the main article, Great Mall of the Bay Area, to which it was originally appended. The transit center, while important, does not seem to need a separate article when there is an option of appending it to a larger article. Note the precedent at San Francisco International Airport, where the BART station is simply part of the main article, without a separate page. Bayberrylane 21:44, 4 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Air disasters

[edit]

sounds good man, but i think i want to leave as seperate page for the time being, i think i will make it into a page all about indepth civil disasters and investigation then consider how to make it into a 'combined' page, maybe. cheers,

Hey mate, is their any easier way to talk to people then going to their user talk page?

Hey, what's up? Let's get back together and work on the Logan article again, we got rebuffed pretty badly with the good article nom... so yeah. If you have time, let's try this one again. -- Jjjsixsix (t)/(c) @ 22:24, 5 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Great article! But I think you misreference Champion (VTA) as added along the Guadalupe trackway in Tasman West when it is actually between Lick Mill (VTA) and Tasman (VTA), the segment of which was added in Tasman West since Guadalupe ended at Tasman. I think you've mistaken it for another station Bayberrylane 13:01, 13 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The original Guadelupe line ran from Old Ironsides station to Civic Center (it was gradually expanded to Santa Teresa). Champion was added as part of the Tasman West extension as an intermediate stop along the existing trackway.
Champion was the first completed element of the Tasman West project, and was for a short time, part of the Guadalupe line (which, at the time was the ONLY line). When the stations west of Old Ironsides opened, VTA split the system into two lines - one running from Downtown Mountain View to Baypointe, the other running from Baypointe to Santa Teresa.
The Guadalupe line's history is fairly well referenced in Mountain View - Winchester (VTA) with San Jose Mercury News articles. If you have some sources that show a different progression, please let me know. Thanks. --Brianvdb 19:39, 18 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome

[edit]

Hi, Brianvdb, and welcome to WikiProject
San Francisco Bay Area
!

We are a growing community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to identifying, categorizing, and improving articles relevant to the Bay Area. Here are some points that may be helpful:

  • Our main aim is to help improve Bay Area-related articles, so if people ask for help with an article, please try your hardest to help them if you are able.
  • Most important discussions take place on the project's main discussion page. It is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
  • The project has several ongoing and developing activities, such as article quality assessment, which you are welcome to participate.
  • Our system for improving lower-quality articles is Jumpaclass. If you'll be editing stub, start, or B-class articles, consider using Jumpaclass to track your progress.
  • If you have another language besides English, please consider adding yourself to our translation section, to help us improve our foreign Bay Area topics.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask on the talk page, and we will be happy to help you.

Again, welcome! We hope you enjoy working on this project.

Orphaned non-free media (Image:MountainViewWinchesterVTALogo.JPG)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:MountainViewWinchesterVTALogo.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:06, 5 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:SFernPubArt.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:SFernPubArt.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 11:22, 22 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
