The Blether Page[edit]

Good day to all you fellow wikipedians, and welcome to my talk page. If you would like to discuss anything in particular regarding any edits, suggestions or general chat please feel free to drop me a line below. I most certainly look forward to hearing from you!

Hey.

Just seen your post on her talk page - "...shall not be making any further edits/reversions in regards to infobox images." I hope you don't really mean that - just because we disagreed over one image you shouldn't feel that you can't (or won't) change it at any point in the future. As you state - a better one may come along, and you might be the editor to see it... Chaheel Riens (talk) 13:30, 8 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Not without decent backing anyway, I did notice a few new pics pop up on the commmons but none really worthy of that centre stage lol unfortunately I don't live near Kelly to stalk her and get any kind of decent image (such a shame) but I shall defo be gettng the blessing of all before making the change. Just need to keep our eyes peeled; I was pleasantly surprised to see the new ones up there to be honest. BrotherDarksoul 22:23, 8 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hey :}[edit]

Hey bro, lol. Can you find a source on Beverly McClellan's vocal range? I beleive she's a mezzo-soprano.

And do you post on Diva Devotee's webpage/blog? I'm also on there as, VelvetViolet4 :}

Tribal44 (talk) 04:27, 13 February 2012 (UTC)Tribal44[reply]

Hey hey lovey, this is getting weird. I do indeed post on there. Usually I am Stuey, but just made a proper DISQUS login of 'ScottishStuey'! I really wish the site could be used as verifiable citations as most of the data is spot on, apart from the fact its a blog and we cant :'( I shall defo try and hunt down a citation for that, cant help but feel the mezzo page is a bit bare in comparison to the contralto and soprano ones :/ How are things anyway? BrotherDarksoul 04:34, 13 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

What is getting weird? Lol. And I agree. Diva Devotee's blog is the best, but wikipedia will not accept the entries as sources. Sad face :{

Things are going well I guess. Haven't been on as much, due to work and other engagements. How are you?

Tribal44 (talk) 05:42, 13 February 2012 (UTC)Tribal44[reply]

Lol just weird in that its 'a small world' way! For us to be editing the same pages and be using the same sites ect! I agree though it is poo that we cant use the site!
I am good thanks, and pretty much the same as yourself. Work work work has prevented my usual attendace here of late. Cant seem to find a source for Beverly McClellan yet but I will keep on trying!! Gonna fill out that mezzo page if it kills me lol BrotherDarksoul 06:01, 13 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I swear, it IS a small world, lol. And I posted on there last night :}

Oh good. Because I love her, and her voice sounds like a mixture of Janis Joplin and Joan Jett....both mezzo-sopranos, lol.

Take care :}

Awww its sooo cute! Thank you! I am good thanks. How are you getting on? BrotherDarksoul Blether 23:40, 16 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Doing ok I guess. Still reverting edits and all that jazz, lol. Tribal44 (talk) 18:27, 17 July 2012 (UTC)Tribal44[reply]

Awwwwwwww!!!! Thanks :}

And I just saw your edit on the mezzo-soprano page, and I almost reverted it since I found out it was you, lol. But, k.d. lang is a mezzo? I've always thought she was a contralto :}~

Tribal44 (talk) 23:21, 18 July 2012 (UTC)Tribal44[reply]

I did kind of think that when I found her name on the source, I am not that familiar with her material though. I will try and hunt out some data to see if there is anything about her being a contralto, which there is just as much chance of to be fair! :) BrotherDarksoul Blether 20:43, 19 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ok ok. She's a great singer. On the song, "Constant Craving", her voice was at least in the light lyric contralto range.

Have you ever heard of the New Zealand crossover singer, Yulia? What range do you think she mostly performs in? I poated one of her vidoes on DD's chat page, and got no reponse. Blahhh, lol.

Tribal44 (talk) 00:23, 21 July 2012 (UTC)Tribal44[reply]

Hey there, sorry for the late reply I have been stuck working nights (FAIL) lol. I have heard of Yulia but never really listened to her music. I have checked out some of her videos on youtube and I would be inclined to say she is indeed a contralto, albeit a light one, perhaps lyric. Failing that she could be a low mezzo. Thanks for bringing her to my attention though :) her voice is a treat for the ears! Hope you are well and behaving :D BrotherDarksoul Blether 11:!4, 24 July 2012 (UTC)

Lol, its ok. I've been busy as well. Just got laid off and stuff. Boo. Would you recommend DD to do a vocal profile on Yulia? I wonder what he's going to describe her vocal range, since I've been hearing different descriptions.

Tribal44 (talk) 06:23, 28 July 2012 (UTC)Tribal44[reply]

Oh dear, really sorry to hear that! Hope you are ok, sending hugs! I have not been on DD for a wee while, been concentrating on here mostly of recent but the next time I pop in I will try to convince DD to make one up. I might have a search through the net for some vids of her range and make the profile myself (if I get the chance). BrotherDarksoul Blether 00:46, 31 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ohh I'm doing ok. Going to be out of town for a week, (yay, lol).

I think DD is going to create Sharon den Adel's vocal page next. I posted a video on the chatbox on how her vocal range goes from a mezzo-soprano to a dramatic soprano.

Haven't had any problems with IP trolls or picture nazis as of late, lol. How about you? Tribal44 (talk) 04:41, 5 August 2012 (UTC)Tribal44[reply]

Hi BrotherDarksoul! I now created the page - Wikipedia:WikiProject Kelly Clarkson or WP: Kelly. (I hope you won't mind. :P). I haven't added your name yet so feel free to add yours. I'll be working on an invite template soon. If you know other editors who might be interested, feel free to ask them too. Thanks and have fun! Chihciboy (talk) 17:27, 18 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hi BrotherDarksoul. I left a message at the Project talk page. Thanks! Chihciboy (talk) 12:17, 20 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I think its time to ask for protection for the page, since the IP vandal, 81.157.163.170 (talk) keeps reverting edits. And the Kate Bush pic was my mistake. Didn't know it was a bad one, lol. Tribal44 (talk) 21:53, 30 August 2012 (UTC)Tribal44[reply]

Lol don't worry about it, I would not have realised about the Kate image had I not clicked on it. I agree about this issue, we have both left statements on said users page but this user also has a registered name so protection would do nothing really. I suspect this user is the one going by Samuelhinch meaning they would only edit using that name. It is indeed extremely frustrating, the last image they added was one that was previously on the page before but as the page has improved over time there was no real need to re-add it, there is a pretty good mix going on just now. I guess between the both of us we can only keep reverting but maybe a request template would not be such a bad idea anyway? Regardless hows things? BrotherDarksoul Blether 01:01, 31 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Did you see a random troll posting "RIP Cher" on DD's chatbox? What the hell is going on with these kinds of people?

I agree. Because its really rude and ignorant to change the pics without notice. Protecting the page for a couple weeks are so may help. How do you ask for a request template? Lol.

I'm doing good. How are you? :}

Tribal44 (talk) 01:37, 31 August 2012 (UTC)Tribal44[reply]

Hey! Totally that whole Cher thing made my blood boil, then the other day it was Adele. Sick freaks!!! I think in order to get the page protected you need to set up an edit request on the talk page, and give specific and decent reasons as to why you want page protection. It can be hard to obtain at times too though so might take a bit of convincing! I am good thanks, my new college course seems like its going to be a good experience, or at least I hope so lol had to work today too and it was my birthday, SUCKY MUCH!!! BrotherDarksoul Blether 22:03, 02 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hey bro, lol. Sorry for not writing you back. Been soooo busy.

I got another troll for you. This IP has been trolling throughout the Anette Olzon, Lea Michelle and Vibeke Stene pages, and threatened to report me for reverting. *I'm* going to report this troll for reverting sourced infomation and threats.

And what has been going on DD's page? Lol.

Tribal44 (talk) 02:08, 7 October 2012 (UTC)Tribal44[reply]

Hey you.[edit]

Hey you. Where have you been? Lol. I've been good. You? :}

I came across this a few weeks ago, and I think you may be interested in this, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Musicians#Vocal_range

Tribal44 (talk) 04:03, 13 November 2012 (UTC)Tribal44[reply]

Hey! Sorry I have been hiding :p Been ok, just really busy with college and working (I now officially have no life lol). I noticed that page a while back, when they first removed the voice type part from the infobox. I agree with some arguments there but if data is properly sourced in regards to range and type I see no issue. I got me kind of neurotic making me find multiple sources which I did for the Ellie Goulding and Lana Del Rey pages. I see however there are some pages that have not only questionable sources but none at all. If you need any help locating any evidence let me know and I will try to find some. :) BrotherDarksoul Blether 12:07, 14 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I see what you mean. But there was a user who used to harass me on my editing not too long ago and would revery every edit I've made. (The user stopped and is now long gone).

I've also noticed that Florence Welch's vocal range has been changed from contralto to mezzo-soprano by an IP user. I changed it back since the source for her being a contralto is more reliable, (I think, lol). Tribal44 (talk) 23:35, 28 November 2012 (UTC)Tribal44[reply]

I did clean up the mezzo citations but was slightly torn as to the source being strong enough, I am happy for it to be contralto either way. If you get any issues with such edits feel free to drop me a line and I will data hunt for more sources or back you up if you need it! Hope you are well otherwise! :) BrotherDarksoul Blether 13:05, 29 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for not repsonding. Been SO busy with everything outside of wikipedia, lol.

Breakaway[edit]

Hey BrotherDarksoul, would you like to help me cleanup/restore the Breakaway album article? PM me when you do. Thanks! Chihciboy (talk) 03:35, 26 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Chihciboy, I would be more than happy to help, to be honest I have been procrastinating fixing up the 'My Life Would Suck Without You' page for months but not really had the chance due to a massive studying schedule. I will however do what ever I can to help, I added a couple of more bytes to Kelly's voice section of interst but they were pinched from other pages and used for the context, so it didn't take me minutes. If there is anything specific on the Breakaway page you would like assistance with please feel free to drop me a line, thanks for getting into contact. Much appreciated. BrotherDarksoul Blether 11:29, 26 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry BrotherDarksoul, I forgot about this one. Anyway, I created a draft for Breakaway in my sandbox. The only sections that I managed to fix and verify its sources are the track listing, charts, certifications, and release history. Feel free to look at it and see what you feel you can add/edit. Thanks! Chihciboy (talk) 05:25, 9 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Shirley Manson (Garbage)[edit]

BrotherDarksoul, since you're a frequent past editor on Manson and Garbage pages, I was wondering if you were up for helping me expand a legacy/impact section on Manson's or Garbage's page informed by a series of articles I've come across with statements on influence/impact.--Lpdte77 (talk) 11:04, 15 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, thanks for your consideration. I would be more than happy to help out if I can, I am usually tied up with uni work these days but I am more than happy to do what I can when I can, I will try to do some research. I am quite surprised there has not been one elaborated on already. BrotherDarksoul Blether 12:03, 17 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. There's no rush of course. I can provide you the links to some articles I'd already saved if you wish, and we can start from there. I'd appreciate help primarily on starting the section and transcribing some of the information, as impact/influence is noted in various forms, sometimes vaguely and sometimes in reference to particular bands. Manson's impact appears to be alluded to more concretely. Perhaps, for the band, info from the multiple sources cited for the last comment in the lead of the debut's (on being considered innovative) can be incorporated. --Lpdte77 (talk) 10:01, 18 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Hi BrotherDarksoul, notifying you to see if you've done your own research or you'd first like me to provide some references.--Lpdte77 (talk) 05:43, 28 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
