My problem is what has been written on the article page; that some people find the word "Wesorts" derogatory.[reply]

Those words are very insulting to a very proud people.

That article has to be corrected, and the word derogatory must be eliminated. Your are defaming my Wesort-Piscataway people when you permit this type of debauchery!

Please stop it!!!Brownby (talk) 22:24, 12 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Brownby and Coolpat222,

I am going to now insist that neither of you edit the We-Sorts article until you have had a constructive discussion on the talk page of the article. This discussion should be thoughtful, respectful, and seeking compromise. It simply will not do for the two of you to keep fighting and reverting on the article--Jimbo Wales (talk) 07:56, 13 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wesorts[edit]

No writer should be able to make edits that are bigoted. The statement that our name is "derogatory" is an insult.

To call a person by his/her ethnic name is not a racial slur, or an "epithet" as was stated by the writer who entered the bigoted comment.

For instance, it is not a slur, or an "epithet" to call someone a Puerto Rican, a Jew, a Pole, a Turk, a Black, etc., so why then, should that writer think that the name of my ethnic group is a "derogatory" epithet.

That writer sounds very racist, and should not be permitted to vandalize the site with bigotry.

I am proud to be a Wesort. All Wesorts are descendants of the Piscataway Indians, and that is why we also sometimes refer to ourselves as Wesort-Piscataways.

No matter how many times I edit the article, my correctins are wiped and the bigotry continues, and continues, and continues.

This is an obstruction of this public media. I hope the administrators of Wikipedia take this matter seriously, and do something to correct the problem before a molehill becomes a huge mountain.Brownby (talk) 08:08, 14 June 2010 (UTC) Other than that, the name of our group is never hyphenated as you have as the title of the article; (We-sorts is incorrect!) The word is Wesort.[reply]
