Speedy deletion of Alagaësia: Total War[edit]

A tag has been placed on Alagaësia: Total War, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

Wikipedia is not a crystal ball

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet very basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Pigman 05:48, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't delete the page, only an Wikipedia:Admin can do that and I'm not an admin. However, I did nominate the page for deletion because it was an announcement for a product that was to be released in the future. Unless there is verifiable information from reliable sources about the subject, this puts Wikipedia in the position of predicting future events without solid and reliable information. Wikipedia actually has a policy on this, often known as Wikipedia is not a crystal ball. If you follow that link, you can read the policy. My apologies that I didn't supply this link before when I put the notice on your talk page. That was my reason for nominating the page. The admin who actually deleted the page may have agreed with me or seen another reason to delete it. Below I'm including some basic information on Wikipedia guidelines and policies. If you have any other questions, I'd be happy to answer them. Best, Pigman 20:40, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
