Deletion of Thumann's[edit]

Hi, wiht regard to your note on my talk page, I deleted the article for several reasons. The primary one was the copyright concern - however even with the permission to use the content, it is not written in an encyclopedia manner. The primary focus of the article was to promote the company, with sentences such as "...Mr. Thumann realized early on that fillers, MSG, gluten, artificial flavors and coloring, and large amounts of salt were not at all necessary when using superior quality cuts of meat and when the complementary spices were blended just right." and "...available only at the finest supermarkets and gourmet delis" as well as including a long list of products. Naturally, Wikipedia doesn't allow advertising; all articles must be written from a neutral point of view and their subjects must meet our notability guidelines. Without these standards, Wikipedia would be less like an encyclopedia and more like a big book of billboards. Best, – Toon(talk) 12:48, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A follow-up. The email should be sent to permissions-en [at] wikimedia [dot] org (rather than permission-commons), as soon as you can, should you wish to use any of the content in the page. It should come from an email address associated with the website and the email should explicitly release the content of the page under both the GFDL and Creative Commons Attribution Share Alike (due to Wikipedia potentially moving to the latter in the summer). The email should note that the copyright holder agrees to their work being altered and used for any purpose, commercial or otherwise, by anyone without notification. – Toon(talk) 14:22, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I noticed that you had the deleted article on your user page. It makes other wikipedian's lives easier if you created a subpage sandbox for it. I don't mean to cause make your life harder, so I'll go ahead and do it for you :). Thanks. Ŵïllî§ï$2? (Talk!/Sign) 01:35, 12 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I posted the link on your userpage. Ŵïllî§ï$2? (Talk!/Sign) 01:36, 12 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, but I've had to delete it as a copyright infringement, (just like the article) until we get permission to use the content, we can't host it anywhere on Wikipedia. – Toon(talk) 01:39, 12 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'll happily restore it upon permission being received, in order for you to work on it. – Toon(talk) 01:48, 12 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
