You wrote: "Please do not delete this page. We are stating facts that our customers have requested. This page was not created for a promotional or advertising purpose. Only to deliver the facts about the Powersport industry and how MotoMonster has helped it grow."
You seem to have fundamentally misunderstood the purpose of Wikipedia. This is an encyclopedia, not free webspace (and not, for the case for the MotoMonster article itself, a free billboard). If your customers want information from you, the only place you should be putting it yourself is on your own website. —Cryptic 22:59, 6 November 2014 (UTC)
Ok, I guess I am misunderstanding. I see that their are some other companies on here. One Identical to MotoMonster.com the company I am referring to is Motorcycle Superstore. Can you please explain the difference between their page and the MotoMonster page? I will and would like to follow any guide lines you set forth so that I my create a factual pages that is not promotional but only factual and informative.

- Primarily, it includes significant coverage in multiple independent, reliable sources; and its tone - while still problematic - is closer to being proper for an encyclopedia, as opposed to what you'd expect to be written by a marketing department. Even so, Motorcycle Superstore is a very troubled article; it was twice submitted to our more formal deletion process here and here, and the discussions could easily have gone the other way. —Cryptic 23:30, 6 November 2014 (UTC)
Ok I understand where you are coming from. I truly don't want to get on your bad side. I love Wikipedia and use this website all of the time. I actually spent 10 hours learning how to write a page in Wiki. So I at least know that I can post a company page I just have to do it right. It would also help me and my company greatly having a Wiki page like Motorcycle superstore has. However I don't want it to be troubled like you expressed theirs is. Is their away for me to write the page and have you approve it if its expectable. I can write the article more about how the powersport industry has grown, how we have been a part of it and where it is headed. Would that be an expectable solution for you? Again thank you very much for the time and your patience. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bvojcek (talk • contribs) 00:32, 7 November 2014
- Honestly, it sounds like it would be off-topic, sort of a reverse of the problem described at Wikipedia:Coatrack. If you're dead set on having a MotoMonster article, it should be focused on MotoMonster.
- There's good advice at Wikipedia:Your first article, which C. Fred pointed you at a couple times above. Your biggest stumbling blocks are going to relate to notability (Wikipedia jargon; the word doesn't have its normal meaning here, but is closer to "already noted" than "worthy of note") and your conflict of interest. Dealing with the former will be either impossible or easy; the latter is definitely possible, and will definitely be very difficult.
- The standard you'll eventually have to meet for notability is detailed at Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies). It's long reading, but it's very succinctly stated in the first sentence - you'll need to find significant coverage in reliable, indepedent secondary sources. The references given in your deleted article aren't; they're a mix of non-independent (your Facebook page and Google+ pages and your posting on the vitalmx forum) and indiscriminate (your SSL vendor, the BBB, Bizrate). Coverage will either exist or it won't, and if it doesn't, there's not much you're going to be able to do here except sink a lot of time and effort only to see your article inevitably deleted. On the other hand, you're in the best position to know where the coverage is if it does exist; the startups and small companies I've been involved with have always been very aware of the genuine press coverage they've gotten. I don't know the first thing about the powersport industry, but I suspect trade magazines would be your best bet.
- I don't have any practical advice to give you at writing neutrally despite your conflict of interest beyond pointing you, as C. Fred has already done above, at Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. Doing so is very difficult even for an experienced editor; I've been editing Wikipedia for over ten years now, and I'm not capable of it myself. —Cryptic 07:43, 7 November 2014 (UTC)
Ok. Having a Wiki page is very important to me. To level with you I am 27 and have put everything I have into getting this company started. I have had no help and their has been a lot of struggles along the way, as with most business. However we have given a lot back to our sport and the people who participate in it. I am extremely dedicated to being a notable company and doing the right things. I can do my best to provide articles from reputable sources and I will do whatever it takes to get an article about MotoMonster approved. I can go to the same companies that Motorcycle Superstore has to get those articles so that I am at least doing what they did to get approved. However I was thinking if you think their article is troubled maybe I could pay you to right a non biased factual article about my company. I could pay you $500 to write this article and get it approved. I figure how could I right an article better than someone that has been doing it for ten years, I am sure you have seen a lot of articles regarding businesses over the years. Would you be willing to help me? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.181.9.80 (talk) 13:43, 7 November 2014 (UTC)
- That's not necessary, and is actively counterproductive - it would give me the same conflict of interest you have. If sufficient independent coverage exists to clearly pass our notability guideline, and you track it down for me, I'll write a (short) article for free. —Cryptic 15:46, 7 November 2014 (UTC)
That's so great! thank you so much. I will get a couple articles form some of the top media outlets in our industry. I will also get some website traffic reporting as well. How many articles do you feel is sufficient? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.181.9.80 (talk) 16:11, 7 November 2014 (UTC)
- Depends how in-depth they are - quality is more important than quantity - but probably around eight to ten paragraphs total in at least two separate sources focused specifically on your company. In particular, we'll be looking for evidence of editorial oversight; stuff that looks like reprinted press releases won't count for much of anything, nor will passing mentions. Head over to WP:GNG and read the bullet points in the "General notability guideline" section for a guide. —Cryptic 05:32, 8 November 2014 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Motomonster
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Motomonster, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.
