CVU Training
I want to joint your CVU Academy. So said The Great Wiki Lord. (talk) 17:00, 19 May 2019 (UTC)
- TheGreatWikiLord Good day. I have noticed you enrolled in the CVU program 3.5 years ago but stopped after the second assignment. Kindly explain what happened. Secondly please let me know why you want to rejoin the program and why you want to be a vandal fighter? Lastly, pls read the message titled "Vandalism Academy" above to understand what requirement, goals and syllabus. Thank you. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 18:35, 19 May 2019 (UTC)
- Got too busy in real life and had to take a break. I want to fight vandalism and better understand the accepted methods better from someone who is experiences. So said The Great Wiki Lord. (talk) 18:39, 19 May 2019 (UTC)
- TheGreatWikiLord, Please note that there are many editors who were interested in counter vandalism course and abundant the program mid way due to lack of anticipation of the amount of efforts/time needed in reading the program material, doing assigned "homework" and exams requirements . The program has no timeline set, as the editor would progress through the course work at their own time. Generally, it would take an editor 1.5-2 months to finish the course. So do prepare yourself for lots of reading and homework if you intend to proceed with the program. "The motto of the Counter Vandalism Unit is Civility - Maturity - Responsibility" and keeping a cool head and be civil is important as we the vandal fighters often receive unpleasant messages from vandalized editor who received our warnings. Lastly, do refrain to use the word personal attack and trolling until you are familiar with the subject which will be covered in the program. If you are up to it then let me know and I will set up a sub page of the program for you. Let me know. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 19:10, 19 May 2019 (UTC)
- CASSIOPEIA Noted. and yes I want to proceed. So said The Great Wiki Lord. (talk) 20:07, 19 May 2019 (UTC)

- TheGreatWikiLord, Please see your first assignment HERE. Do note, I will only review and provide comments after you have informed me that you have finished the assignment and ready for a review. I will accept to train you in a good will and a fresh start for you as I understand you had a run-in with an admin 6 months ago and rollback request.I am here to inform you that the review/comments I would make in the program is good faith and constructive criticism and I need you to keep your temperament in check and keep a cool head even if you do not agree with me for a good faith discussion and stay calm interaction is always welcome and encouraged. To say that pls also be civil, patient and polite to other editors irregardless if they are a vandal editors or not for discussions is the key and kindly assume good faith. Reserve and reporting to WP:ANI or raise an arbitration request only if it is necessary and as the last resort respectively. Welcome to CVUA program. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 04:21, 20 May 2019 (UTC)
Latest tech news from the Wikimedia technical community. Please tell other users about these changes. Not all changes will affect you. Translations are available.
Recent changes
- The report for phase 1 of the talk pages consultation 2019 has been published. Communities are invited to start phase 2 of the consultation on their wikis.
Problems
- File descriptions for files from Commons were not shown properly on other Wikimedia wikis for a few days. For example the image descriptions and license information were missing. This has now been fixed. [1][2]
- Some diffs show an error message when you try to see them. The developers are working on fixing it. It could be because of some edit comments. [3][4]
Changes later this week
- The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 21 May. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 22 May. It will be on all wikis from 23 May (calendar).
Meetings
- You can join the technical advice meeting on IRC. During the meeting, volunteer developers can ask for advice. The meeting will be on 22 May at 15:00 (UTC). See how to join.
Future changes
- The content translation tool on Wikipedia can use machine translations. There is a system to stop translations where the editors do not fix machine translation mistakes. This warns or stops them if they seem to just copy what the machine translation gives them. If this system is too strict or not strict enough you can tell the language team. [5]
- The Wikidata
wbeditentity
API endpoint will remove all aliases if the request includes an empty alias. This is how it supposed to work. It has not been working this way because of a bug. This will start on 12 June. [6]

Vandalism in pending changes protected page
Hi greetings, I have a doubt. When reviewing pending changes pages, can we use rollback instead of revert changes in PC reviewing on reverting blatant vandalism? Kindly please answer. Thank you.--PATH SLOPU 16:17, 17 May 2019 (UTC)
- Path slopu Greetings. Rollback would be used if the edits are considered blatantly vandalism on the most recent edit (say editor A) on pending changes pages. If another editor (editor B) made and edit, then you cannot use rollback to revert edits made by editor A. Do note we cannot choose which revision to be restored for the revert mad by rollback function will always be the last revision not made by the author of the most recent revision. Cheers. Cluebot
Hi. I have been using RCMap to watch anonymous edits and have found a few instances of vandalism. Cluebot seems to undo the edits before I have a chance to do it. I know this is A Good Thing, but I want to know how I can stop "wasting" my time. One of the users User talk:205.213.212.109 has a long list of infractions and has only gotten mild warnings from Cluebot. Could you look into it and advise me. Thanks in advance.TheDoDahMan (talk) 19:53, 23 May 2019 (UTC)
- TheDoDahMan Good day. Cluebot is a vandalism tool that uses a combination of different detection methods quickly and automatically for thousands of edits could be made in a minute in Wikipedia and active counter vandalism fighters only make up a small group. In regardless which counter vandalism tools you use, Cluebot will be present. However, since some forms/the edit made of vandalism could not be detected by Cluebot, the vandal fighters will be of great contribution of their revert effort. Vandalism warning comes in different level as it depends on nature of the vandalism made and how egregious they are. The level of warnings and type of warnings are covered in the CVUA program. By the way do check out Help:Wikitext for Wiki markup we use which it would be beneficial to your editing in Wikipedia. Let me know anything else I could help. Cheers. Hey man
Hey CASSIOPEIA, someone wrote in Tony Ferguson’s page that he had beaten Khabib via TKO (Ears) and Donald Cerrone via TKO. I reverted this, and Everedux started reverting my actions, he wrote 2 warnings of banning me and I was just fighting vandalism. I wrote on his talk page and he didn’t reply, just reverted all the messages I left in his page. Help me please. Mixedmartialartsfan1 (talk) 21:45, 23 May 2019 (UTC)
- I don’t have much knowledge of MMA, and because there was no edit summary with your edits I mistakenly assumed they were vandalism. I’ve removed the warnings from your talk page and restored your edits on Tony Ferguson. Again, my apologies for the misunderstanding. Everedux (talk) 23:56, 23 May 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Mixedmartialartsfan1, Greetings. Thank you for your message above. Do take on the advice to leave a brief Help:Edit Summary on all your edits as this will not only remove the misunderstanding and receive warning when you remove content of an article but more importantly it is a way to communicate to other editors the nature of your edits for articles' content is the collaboration works from many editors.
- Hi Everedux Greetings. Thank you for being part of counter vandalism in Wikipedia. I am one of the Wikipedia:Counter-Vandalism Unit/Academy (CVUA) trainers and also an active MMA editor in Wikipedia. Mixedmartialartsfan1 reached out to me as I would be familiar of the nature of your wrong revert and warnings place on their talk page. Mixedmartialartsfan1 had placed 4 different messages on your talk page explaining your revert and warnings were not correct which you deleted them each time when you received the message without replying. For such Mixeodmartialartsfan1 sought help from me of the situation on my talk page.
- As all of us know communication is one of the most important aspect among the editors in Wikipedia, not replying an editor and deleted their messages is not a right thing to do especially you had reverted and wrongly place the warning messages on the their talk page for you didnt want to look into the matter until you were being complaint of your conduct. Secondly, as a vandal fighter, we do mistakes from time to time, including I, but we have to take responsibility of our edits and learnt from them if we have done wrong for CVUA motto is civility, responsibility, maturity, and not replying an editor of the your edits and deleted them did not show you care of your actions and trying to hide the complains. You have the right to delete the messages on your talk page, but they will still show on the history page. Admin will check your edits including your talk page when you request certain user rights or if you are involved any noticeboard incidents next time, so deleting the messages would only raise more questions by the admin. Lastly, If we are not sure about certain deletion or changes in an edits especially a sportsman, such as they have just been transfer to another club, result overturn due to some doping incidents, their wins/lost records, and etc, then we, as the vandal fighters, would just leave the edits as they are for other vandal fighters who are familiar with the sport to verify the info or editors who are involved in the sport to take action if necessary (just as in this case, Mixedmartialartsfan1 knows about the the bout between Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov or Donald Cerrone have not been taken place before or being scheduled at the moment - see HERE).
- You have done the right thing to remove the warnings message and apologies to Mixedmartialartsfan1 finally and I thank you for that. In CVUA, the program addresses more than vandalism subject, it also cover username, threats, CSD and etc., if you want to enroll, just let me know. Thank you. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 03:10, 24 May 2019 (UTC)
- Hello CASSIOPEIA. I understand that communication is very important on Wikipedia, and I also realize that removing talk page messages is not advisable in most cases. In the past, I've only removed messages from my talk page that appeared to be clearly sent in bad faith, such as these: [8], [9], [10], [11], [12]. Similar messages have been removed by other users, such as these: [13], [14], [15], [16], [17], [18].

CASSIOPEIA(talk) 03:10, 24 May 2019 (UTC)
- As I said before, I incorrectly assumed that Mixedmartialartsfan1's edits were vandalism (the tone of this message [19] didn't help with that), and as such I removed the messages that were sent. I was not trying to avoid responsibility, however, as I've been fully willing to explain my edits or acknowledge mistakes in the past - see here: [1], [2], [3], [4], [5].
- That being said, I recognize that my actions in this case were wrong, and for that I apologize. I should have both checked the edits in question closer before deciding to revert them and responded to Mixedmartialartsfan1's messages right away. I will do my best not to repeat either of these mistakes in the future, while also being more careful about reverting edits on topics I'm not very familiar with.
- Thank you for this message, as I appreciate your help and guidance. Everedux (talk) 16:10, 24 May 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Everedux, Greetings. Thank you for your message. I had already noted and thanked your acknowledgment on my last message. I do understand the message from the editor might not be what you were expected or might not consider civil for your standard but there was no personal or legal thread made. We, the vandal fighters, often receive unpleasant messages, and sometimes down right disgusting comments. It is not easy to keep cool at times, me included, and what we could do is to take a few minutes break, make a cup of coffee to chill it off. You have been helping Wikipedia especially in C-V area and I thank you for that. We all do mistakes and all we would do is to minimize them. Thanks again for your message and your effort made. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 16:47, 24 May 2019 (UTC)
Last Warning
Hi again. I found an instance of vandalism from User talk:137.122.64.155. They have had their final warning before I got there. The page in Question is Anti-abortion movement I thought you should know.TheDoDahMan (talk) 22:25, 23 May 2019 (UTC)
- TheDoDahMan Hi, thank you for letting me know and truly appreciate it. the IP use have been blocked - see User talk:137.122.64.155. Rack up 200 mainspace edits (talk pages/Teahouse/WP pages do not considered mainspace but articles pages do) then come back and i get the CVUA program started for your (make sure you dont make and disruptive or vandalism edits yourself. Since you are new to Wikipedia, if you are not sure, just leave it/dont make the edit). If you have any questions or any I could help, just let me know. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 03:27, 24 May 2019 (UTC)
- Hello. Yes I am very careful. I only revert things that are obvious vandalism. Sometimes however, I see edits where only a number is changed by a small amount. I know that this is a stealth tactic but if someone changes the GDP of Outer Mongolia, how do I know what the right thing is? So I just leave it and put it on the watch list. I have the sequence down: Assess -> Revert -> Warn -> Watch -> Report.TheDoDahMan (talk) 10:17, 24 May 2019 (UTC)
- Me again... This user keeps deleting their warning from the talk page: 2601:240:E100:2A36:61C6:5CDA:7C1B:AE9D I reverted it, but I don't know how to stop it.TheDoDahMan (talk) 10:29, 24 May 2019 (UTC)

- TheDoDahMan, Greetings. Always check the sources provided in the article and see if the changes are correct. If there is not source provided to verify and you have not idea where to find it (especially on sportsmen statistics) then leave it and do nothing and let the vandal fighters / editors who know about the subject well to deal with it, unless those changed of number is extremely outrages such as a boxer total bouts change from 29 to 4994949494949 or a box office of a movie from USD 2.5 mil to USD 5, then you could revert it and warn the editors. You can go to "Preference" on your top menu and click "watchlist" to set your preference it you wish. When you have other user right tool such as Hunggle you would able watch editors' edits much easily. To use Huggle, editor needs to have rollbback right and you have wait until you finish or on the final leg of the CVUA program to apply. Pop back here if you have any other questions. Thank you for helping on C-V. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 10:36, 24 May 2019 (UTC)
More Vandalsim?
Check the page Michael Cohen (actor). This is a BLP of a transgender person and an ip has changed all the gender pronouns. This is a little confusing for me.TheDoDahMan (talk) 11:35, 24 May 2019 (UTC)
- TheDoDahMan Use the gender that reflect that person's latest expressed gender self-identification - see MOS:GENDERID; example Caitlyn Jenner. A lot of time editors might not know which gender pronounce to use for a transgender person in Wikipedia, so a revert and explain to the editor with attached relevant links. If the user do it again then warn them. If they disagree with the term we use, ask them to go to article talk page for a discussion. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 12:17, 24 May 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks. I have a persistent one. This one keeps vandalising rugby teams. He is on his third warning.TheDoDahMan (talk) 12:24, 24 May 2019 (UTC)
- TheDoDahMan Pls provide name of the article and the user name. Thanks. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 12:26, 24 May 2019 (UTC)
- The articles are: Ottawa Stags and New York City Rugby League. He is using at least 2 ips, the last one is 2001:8003:C000:5600:E49E:DB8F:8A3A:2F68. This guy keeps inserting {{speedy}}.TheDoDahMan (talk) 12:33, 24 May 2019 (UTC)
- Hi TheDoDahMan They have stopped for now and I have placed messages to the IP address talk page. They can choose to WP:AfD the page if they want so the Wikipedia community can have a discussion if the subjects/articles are notable enough to merit a page in mainspace. I also request for page protection, if the more IP disrupt the pages, then they will be protected if the disruption has staled that they wont. You do really into vandalism work I can see here. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 12:55, 24 May 2019 (UTC)

Template Wanted
Hi. Is there a template I can use that says something like: Hello and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contribution. In keeping with Wikipedia's policy of verification, please consider adding references for content you add to articles in future. It would be handy.TheDoDahMan (talk) 15:07, 24 May 2019 (UTC)
- TheDoDahMan See HERE. You can also use WP:Twinkle by clicking "Wel" from the drop down list and choose from the list which it is much easy. CASSIOPEIA(talk)
- Thanks. I have another problem. The article is Spring roll, this user (71.128.3.86) Has changed all occurrences of "spring" with "egg"; the hard way! I don't know how to handle this one.TheDoDahMan (talk) 15:30, 24 May 2019 (UTC)
- TheDoDahMan all edits have been reverted. There are tools to revert consecutive vandalized edits with user right permission. You can apply when you have finish the CVUA program or right before the CVUA final exam.. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 15:38, 24 May 2019 (UTC)
Draft - The Cufflinks
You left this message: CASSIOPEIA left a message on your talk page in "Your draft article, Draft:The Cufflinks". Hello, Daffdaemon. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "The Cufflinks...
This article has been finalized and submitted for review. Why am I getting this message?Daffdaemon 13:33, 24 May 2019 (UTC)
And more importantly, when I go to my page, why can't I find the article?Daffdaemon 13:40, 24 May 2019 (UTC)
Nevermind - It was deleted by some glitch. It's been fixed. Daffdaemon 14:16, 24 May 2019 (UTC)

Draft - Andrew Hoppin
You left a comment on my user talk page regarding the article Andrew Hoppin. I just want to clarify a couple of points. First, when I originally created the article, I did not create it as a draft. I was fairly active in Wikipedia a number of years ago, but the system of having people create drafts did not exist back when I was active, and I did not know about it when I created the Andrew Hoppin article. I am a former co-worker and business partner of Andrew, but at the time I created the article, we were no longer working together. I realized that this might still be considered a conflict of interest, so I posted a comment in the article's talk page disclosing my relationship with Andrew. I still think that he is a sufficiently noteworthy to warrant a Wikipedia article, but I understand that my history with him may color my perception, so I think it is best that I defer to the judgment of other Wikipedians about this article, and I therefore am not objecting to the decision that has been made to delete it. If I have occasion to create an article in the future that I think may raise COI questions, I will try to handle it better than I did with the Andrew Hoppin article.
While I'm thinking about it, I'd like to call your attention to the Wikipedia article that exists on me -- not my user page but the actual Wikipedia article: Sheldon Rampton. This article was *not* created by me. Early in my involvement with Wikipedia, I did make a couple of edits to the article and was promptly admonished not to do so. Since then I have been careful to avoid editing it directly. However, the article is now significantly out of date, since it does not mention anything about my life or career since 2009. I see that the article has also been flagged as needing citations and that there was a proposal at one time to delete it which ended in a decision to keep it. I don't want to edit the article myself in respect of Wikipedia's COI policy. If, however, there are other Wikipedians who want to edit the article and improve it, I would be happy to provide independent citations or other information as desired upon request. Is there a good way to communicate that offer so that future editors know they can contact me?
Thanks for your work on Wikipedia. Sheldon Rampton (talk) 08:10, 25 May 2019 (UTC)
- Sheldon Rampton good day and thank you for the message above. For Sheldon Rampton article - you would make the request assistance on the article talk page. If you able to provide me independent reliable sources, I will edit it for you and place the inline citation accordingly. Let me know if anything else I could help. thank you. Conundrum
Hi. I have a problem with page Bell Let's Talk. The user has changed the content and deleted a reference, but has provided another reference. This page has been a problem. Please see the history. TheDoDahMan (talk) 17:21, 24 May 2019 (UTC)
- TheDoDahMan Leave it. I think the IP user is trying to update and tweak the copyeiding of the page as source was provided and match what the content added - [22]. If a editor adding an unsouced content that is not a vandalism edit, but we place unsouced message instead of vandalism edit. Pls do NOT revert more than 3 times in 24 hrs on on the same article for edit which is not vandalism for your will be blocked. Bear in mind. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 17:41, 24 May 2019 (UTC)
- OK Sorry. Still learning...

- Hi. Can you look at Himesh Reshammiya. It appears to be a good-faith edit but the user has changed the picture. I don't know how to check the copyright...

- TheDoDahMan The image was uploaded HERE. I dont think the editor who uploaded the image is the copyright holder; however, I have a look at the internet and cant find the same image for such, I would not report it. Leave it then. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 13:18, 25 May 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks. I have a user (148.252.24.230) who keeps changing "a British" to "an English" in Jamie Oliver. I have reverted once, but I don't want to keep reverting because you told me yesterday not to revert so often.TheDoDahMan (talk) 13:35, 25 May 2019 (UTC)
- And what exactly is your objection to that change? "English" is more informative. Please don't label a good faith attempt to improve the article as vandalism. 148.252.24.230 (talk) 13:41, 25 May 2019 (UTC)

- TheDoDahMan United Kingdom = England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland and the people is called British; whereas English is who born in England. If a person is born in England, he is an English and a British at the same time; whereas a Scottish is also a British but not an English. Secondly, if an editor makes a good faith edit, then it is not a vandalism. The warning you placed was incorrect. Apologies to the IP editor would be the right thing to do; mistakes would happen as you are still new and learning about vandalism- the CUVA program would address the this topic (good faith vs vandalism). Do not edit on nationality, race of a subject, sportsperson' statistic unless you know the subject well and could back it up with sources. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 14:02, 25 May 2019 (UTC)
- OK. That is clear. Can you look at Alexander Downer . It is a BLP that has been messed up to a point where I can't figure out how to restore it. Still learning...TheDoDahMan (talk) 14:07, 25 May 2019 (UTC)

- TheDoDahMan Hi the edits page provide have been dealt with, pls seee Wikipedia:External links especially WP:ELNO. Most editors do not know the EL guidelines and usually have no intention to make disruptive edits for such we would assume good faith unless, they are for promotion/spam links. There are thousand of disruptive / vandalism edits each day in Wikipedia. For blatantly vandalism edits, they usually would be reverted and warn by vandal fighters or editors within minutes or hours and if not by the next day. If you do use if an edit is considered vandalism, then leave it. If you do not know what to do, leave it. Cheer. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 04:03, 26 May 2019 (UTC)

- Hi Flix11 Greetings. We need independent sources (at least 2 in any languagues) to indicate about "2019" Johan Cruyff Shield as this is the subject of the article. Let me know anything else I could help. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 07:00, 26 May 2019 (UTC)
- CASSIOPEIA I have added Dutch source. Is it enough? – Flix11 (talk) 07:37, 26 May 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Flix11 We need sources specifically state "2019 Johan Cruyff Shield" in the source articles. What you have provided (sources) do not indicate that. Just a if the draft article is about FIFA 2020 and the sources do not indicate anything about FIFA 2020 that would be the right sources for the subject and content of the article. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 07:45, 26 May 2019 (UTC)
- @CASSIOPEIA: I made a mistake. Is it now? Because even the title said so. Besides check out the 2018 Johan Cruyff Shield. It does not even have a single ref. – Flix11 (talk) 07:51, 26 May 2019 (UTC)

Want to learn anti-vandalism
Hi. I want to learn the anti-vandalism syllabus. Apparently you have 3 vacancies. Can you help? TheDoDahMan (talk) 08:40, 23 May 2019 (UTC)
- TheDoDahMan Greetings. Thank you for interested in counter vandalism. lease note that there are many editors who were interested in counter vandalism course and abundant the program mid way due to lack of anticipation of the amount of efforts/time needed in reading the program material, doing assigned "homework" and exams requirements . The program has no timeline set, as the editor would progress through the course work at their own time. Generally, it would take an editor 1.5-2 months to finish the course. So do prepare yourself for lots of reading and homework if you intend to proceed with the program. As of today, you have edited 19 mainspace - see HERE and the requirement for a user to enroll into the program is that (1) the user has contributed at least 200 edits to MAINSPACE and (2) a good contributor (no vandalism edits , disruptive edits or have not been blocked in last 6 months). Since you are retired, I am believe you would have time in your hand to make 200 mainspace edits very quickly. You could find help needed in Wikipedia:Task Center. Kindly come back if you are still interested after you have contributed to at least 200 mainspace edits, and also include the reason why you are interested in the program and become a vandal fighter in Wikipedia. Let me know if anything else I could help. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 08:57, 23 May 2019 (UTC)
- You are correct. I have plenty of time. I will come back when I have made the required number of edits. Thank you.TheDoDahMan (talk) 09:16, 23 May 2019 (UTC)

- TheDoDahMan You have reached 200+ edits in mainspace. Pls have a look the "Goals" and "Syllabus" sections below to understand the requirements needed at the end of the course in order to graduate from CVSCHOOL. Secondly, please note that there are many editors who were interested in counter vandalism course and abundant the program mid way due to lack of anticipation of the amount of efforts/time needed in reading the program material, doing assigned "homework" and exams requirements . Goals
If you're new and/or inexperienced, before embarking on a Counter-Vandalism training programme, you should be able to demonstrate that you have already mastered the basic principles of editing the encyclopedia and contributed at least 200 edits to MAINSPACE. If you have previously been warned or requested to follow guidelines, you should have demonstrated that you have addressed these issues.
When you have shown through training that you have mastered the principles of Counter-Vandalism and can apply them with accuracy, and can communicate correctly and effectively with new users of all kinds you may be able to apply for permission to use restricted tools, such as, for example Rollback, and STiki that will enable you to semi-automate the process, while understanding that speed alone is not essential - the target is accuracy. When you have achieved these goals, you can display the {{User CVU0-en}} userbox on your user page.

- If you are still interested in the program please include the reason why you are interested in the program and become a vandal fighter in Wikipedia. I do encourage you to slow up on vandal fighting edits a bit until you fully understand about vandalism. If you have not checked out the WP:The Wikipedia Adventure program, I highly recommend you to do so. Although some editors might find the program is written/displayed with the younger editors in mind, but the valuable info and exercises is meant for all editors which would help you to understand some fundamental info and requirements as a good contributor in Wikipedia. I learnt a lot from the program when I started editing Wikipedia. Also, you might want to help out in other areas as what takes you fancy such as Wikipedia:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors (copy editing) or Fix spelling and grammar. Take a look at Wikipedia:WikiProject Biography/Military and Wikipedia:WikiProject Motorsport, and if you are interested then join the Project and help out the open tasks.
- Let me know about your interest of CVUA program, so I would know should I set up the program for you. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 04:30, 26 May 2019 (UTC)
- I still want to join the AVU. I think the reason is clear, as I said before, I want to be a part of this project. Also to paraphrase JFK, I want to do it, not because it is easy but because it is hard. I think you can see from my user page that I have always welcomed a challenge. As for time, I have already indicated that it is not an issue. So; let's go!TheDoDahMan (talk) 15:33, 26 May 2019 (UTC)
- Hi TheDoDahMan. Good to know and welcome CVUA. Please enable WP:Twinkle if you havent. Go to the Gadgets section of your Preferences page and tick the box and save the edit (at the the bottom of the list of gadgets). Twinkle report vandalism, warn the editors, page protection, CSD, talk back, welcome the editor, AfD an article and etc. I have created a sub page for you for this program and see HERE for your first assignment. Once you have read the reading material and done the assignment, then ping me. I will review (usually the next day after I am notified by you) and make necessary comments. Kindly revert if you have further questions of my comment if not let me know you are ready for the second assignment. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 15:55, 26 May 2019 (UTC)
Nomenclature: Cebu officials
Hi, as always, thank you. I would just like to suggest renaming both Governors and Vice Governors. Would it be okay to rename them to Governor of Cebu and Vice Governor of Cebu, respectively? First, I just found out the existing, similar pages of provincial governments in the Philippines observing this same standard in naming. Second, I am going to develop them not just as lists, but a more comprehensive descriptive pages for both offices, containing history, functions, etc. Third, the title "List" is kind of limiting the scope of the pages. Fourth, and this sort of imagines the future of the pages, renaming them now would prevent other editors to be tempted in creating a separate page for "Governor/Vice Governor" explaining the office, its history, etc and another for list of past/incumbent officers, when they can be found on just one article for each office. It's nothing urgent though, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts on this. Best regards, Verbosmithie (talk) 05:03, 27 May 2019 (UTC)
- Verbosmithie Good day. The convention for a job title is low cap - see MOS:JOBTITLES and examples List of governors of California and the two articles you created is more toward stand alone list articles than a normal article. If you want to create a "Governor of Cebu" then look for example such as Governor of New South Wales. You can add lists of of the stand alone list articles under "See also" section. Let me know anything else I could help. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 05:40, 27 May 2019 (UTC)
- CASSIOPEIAThank you. I wasn't sure what to do. Pointing me to a model page of California and New South Wales is brilliant! I'd keep this in mind when I'd be developing the pages. Verbosmithie (talk) 13:27, 27 May 2019 (UTC)
- Verbosmithie You are welcome. Anything I could help on your constructive contribution to Wikipedia and work is the time was well spent. Pop back here if anything else I could help. Have a wonderful day. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 13:35, 27 May 2019 (UTC)
