Sarah Pearson - page blanking[edit]

Hi there,

I see that you removed the contents of the Sarah Pearson article. Blanking a page is not generally a good idea. --Slashme (talk) 12:41, 14 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I removed a redirect to a page about a plane crash, there was no article! I thought removing a re-direct was fine? Hopefully will have information on a Sarah Pearson who is an architectural historian shortly. Happy to be corrected! — Preceding unsigned comment added by CChestnutt (talkcontribs) 15:45, 14 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hello! First, a quick note that I didn't get a notification of your reply, so in future you can tag me by typing [[User:Slashme]] and signing your post by typing ~~~~ at the end of your comment. That way I'll know someone's talking to me. Second, a pointless redirect can be deleted by listing it at WP:RFD, but just blanking a page isn't helpful, because a reader arrives at a blank page. If the page is deleted, at least there's a note explaining that there's no page with that title, and encouraging its creation.
If you know of a person called Sarah Pearson who is notable, then you should collect two or three independent, reliable secondary sources that discuss her in detail, and first write the briefest of articles: just a sentence that says who they are and why they're notable, and add your sources. Then you can expand and polish the article, and if you need help, feel free to ask me! --Slashme (talk) 15:00, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
