Speedy deletion nomination of Kazi Dawa Samdup

Hello CFynn,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Kazi Dawa Samdup for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. L337p4wn Talk to me! 06:45, 26 May 2013 (UTC)

Whoops! — My apologies. I was a little trigger happy and reported your new page a little bit too soon. I'll remove the tag. Please continue to expand upon your article.

Also, I would recommend using the following template for your new page:

No, I'm afraid I don't know very much about that very interesting-sounding character and I'm at a loss as to where to find his book online. A good public or university library should be able to get it for you on interlibrary loan.—Greg Pandatshang (talk) 03:21, 30 May 2013 (UTC)

Khunu Lama

Hi Chris. I’ve seen that you contributed a bit to Khunu Lama Tenzin Gyaltsen. I added an academic source and maybe you have time and joy to expand the article a bit about the youth and education of Khunu Lama. I won’t engage further but was thinking it is worth to add the source and to add some references. Thank you in case you find time to improve it. --Kt66 (talk) 00:41, 4 December 2013 (UTC)

Hiya!!

I reverted your addition of the New Yorker article by Rachel Aviv to the Tyrone Hayes page because that article is already cited multiple times in the story. Usually "External Links" are for things that aren't cited at all in the story but which have relevance to it; as "See also" is for Wikipedia/Wikiproject links. Thanks for your contribution, I wanted to let you know why I changed it! Cheers! Ellin Beltz (talk) 22:02, 8 February 2014 (UTC)

FYI

WP:UGC: "Some news outlets host interactive columns they call blogs, and these may be acceptable as sources so long as the writers are professional journalists or are professionals in the field on which they write and the blog is subject to the news outlet's full editorial control."Heicth (talk) 19:35, 2 May 2014 (UTC)

Shugden group’s allegations of human rights violation

Hi Chris, since you work also a bit on the Shugden article the following statement by Dr Hill might be interesting or could be used for the article:

The final point he makes is that the Dalai Lama is often accused by the pro-Shugden side as suppressing freedom of religion.
“This accusation makes no sense,” states Dr Hill. “The Dalai Lama is not head of any state; he has no military or police at his command; he has no political jurisdiction over which he can exercise suppression.”
“Some members of the Gelug sect left the authority of the Dalai Lama in order to follow what they see as a purer form of religion. These people may not be very popular in other parts of the Gelug sect, but their human rights have not been violated nor their freedoms suppressed; even if some people did want to suppress or silence the pro-Shugen side, they simply have no means of doing so,” Dr Hill concludes.

Also the statement by the German Buddhist Monastic Association might be useful: http://buddhistische-ordensgemeinschaft.de/dbo_statement-shugden-protests-Dalai-Lama.htm I lack time to edit the related articles Western Shugden Society and Dorje Shugden Controversy. If you would ask me, they are candidates for deletion and should be rewritten from the start. All the best, Kt66 (talk) 21:14, 8 May 2014 (UTC)

This draft contains all the academic sourcing that was deleted by Prasangika37 and Kelsang Jangdom.VictoriaGrayson (talk) 18:01, 25 July 2014 (UTC)

But still, Chris, sources come after references! See WP:ORDER. Joshua Jonathan -Let's talk! 11:07, 28 July 2014 (UTC)

@Joshua Jonathan: Thanks. I'll fix the order later when I'm done. For now it is a little easier for me to work with that way. Chris Fynn (talk) 11:16, 28 July 2014 (UTC)

Can we archive most of the discussions on the talk page?VictoriaGrayson (talk) 06:12, 30 July 2014 (UTC)
@VictoriaGrayson:Many of the sections on the talk page still have comments that are quite recent, so archiving them might be contentious. Better to only archive sections that have no comments for about a month - but there aren't so many of those - so I'd hold back on archiving for a week or two when there should be more. If the articles are merged there is probably going to be a lot of housekeeping needed -including figuring out what to do with the talk archives of both articles. If the two articles are merged into one (new) article we should definitely set up auto archiving of the talk page for that article right from the start. Chris Fynn (talk) 06:31, 30 July 2014 (UTC)
