Orphaned fair use image (Image:Cw coming soon graphic.png)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Cw coming soon graphic.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Wikimania in Atlanta!

[edit]

Hi! I noticed your involvement on U.S. South-related articles, categories and WikiProjects, and I wanted to let you know about a bid we're formulating to get next year's Wikimania held in Atlanta! If you would like to help, be sure to sign your name to the "In Atlanta" section of the Southeast team portion of the bid if you're in town, or to the "Outside Atlanta" section if you still want to help but don't live in the city or the suburbs. If you would like to contribute more, please write on my talk page, the talk page of the bid, or join us at the #wikimania-atlanta IRC chat on freenode.org. Have a great day!

P.S. While this is a template for maximum efficiency, I would appreciate a note on my talk page so I know you got the message, and what you think. This is time-sensitive, so your urgent cooperation is appreciated. :) Mike H. I did "That's hot" first! 09:11, 31 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Issues with user TCR89

[edit]

I noticed you removed the jpg of Brittany Daniel that TCR89 had taken. I believe this user is a sockpuppet of TCrEoLe89. I reported him as such to Can't sleep, clown will eat me, who had previously removed the same image TCrEoLe89/TCR89 had used. Macboots 18:33, 22 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Picture Of Dixie Carter

[edit]

Just because you were given permission to use it doesn't mean it is yours. You need to go back and give the picture the proper copyrights on it or risk having it put up for deletion. Mr. C.C. (talk) 07:03, 22 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I just re-read the picture page in question. Where does it say that I claimed copyright on it or that I claimed that owned it? --CRiyl (talk) 10:15, 22 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I just re-read it and it still seems suspect. Anybody can say they got permission to use it because a lot of people do claim copyrights to pictures in which they don't have the rights to. Mr. C.C. (talk) 05:57, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
If I were the type that would falsify things here, I would've been long gone from WP with a trail of destructive edits. My history of edits are mostly cleaning up after vandals or small bits of organization; my edit history shows that I don't do copyvios and I've only uploaded three pictures during my two-plus years here. Also, Mr. Kapur has not to my knowledge sent any objections to me or any editors asking for the picture's takedown. Even I have looked for and acted upon pictures with false permissions in the past if you checked my history.
Have you actually contacted Mr. Kapur and verified with him directly that he gave permission? His email address is on the source page listed in the image page. --CRiyl (talk) 09:27, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

the xkcd comic at WP:Citation needed is under attack again ... Your words would be welcome. Andrew Gradman talk/WP:Hornbook 17:10, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Dixie carter jerry jarrett.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Dixie carter jerry jarrett.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 04:22, 13 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
