Welcome to my talk page. You can leave me a message here

Hi CST. I noticed that you uploaded the Image:MILF.jpg, and regarding the copyright status of the photo you mention that "The copyright holder has irrevocably released all rights to it..". I find it somehow difficult to find anything that confirm this, so maybe you could help me and clarify for me why you believe/know that this is the case re the copyright-status of the photo? I would like to use this photo in other language versions of Wikipedia, but to do that I would really need some more information regarding it's copyright. -- Karl Meier 09:36, 30 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Howdy! I've recently listed an image you uploaded, Image:GTA-TERROR.jpg, as a Possibly unfree image. The reason I did this was that the link you gave as a source was to the New Strait Times, who provide no evidence that the image was obtained from the NSA.. Please note that my nomination was not meant as a personal attack upon yourself or anyone interested in the topic described by the image. If you disagree with my decision, or can provide an alternative acceptable source for the image, feel free to leave a comment at its entry under 2 June. If you have any queries, I'd be happy to answer them on my talk page. Happy editing! GeeJo (t)(c) • 08:38, 4 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You can upload it on Commons. I can do it for you if you want. Just let me know. FellowWikipedian 02:42, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Architecture Wikiproject

[edit]

I was wondering if you might be interested in joining Wikipedia:WikiProject Architecture. Also we've been revamping the Architecture Portal and nominations to Portal:Architecture/Selected picture candidates and Portal:Architecture/Selected article candidates will always be welcome.--Mcginnly 08:56, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

An image that you uploaded, Image:PDSB.gif, has been listed at Wikipedia:Copyright problems because it is a suspected copyright violation. Please look there if you know that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), and then provide the necessary information there and on its page, if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you.
You'd marked the image as both {{CopyrightedFreeUse}} and {{NoRightsReserved}}, but a quick look at the source web site clearly states:

I'm astonished you lasted this long. Blocked. --Golbez 00:29, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. On May 28, 2006 you placed a tag indicating that the International Bible Students Association article was lacking sources for some information, and therefore might be inacurate. However, you made no comments on the associated talk page to indicate which facts you had a problem with. If you wouldn't mind, please take a look at the article now, and place a {{fact}} nxt to the individual sentences and/or paragraphs about which you have concerns. Thanks and happy editing! - CobaltBlueTony 12:59, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Efren-Reyes.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Efren-Reyes.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Abu badali (talk) 19:40, 11 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Gun_X_Sword.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Gun_X_Sword.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast 17:02, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image:ROSEON.gif

[edit]

I have tagged Image:ROSEON.gif as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. Thank you. Fair use rationale for Image:Bustamante.jpg

You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Speedy deletion of Image:MILF.jpg

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Image:MILF.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:MILF.jpg|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Bustamante.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Bustamante.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stifle (talk) 10:55, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I have decided to put on a mini-contest within the November 2013 monthly disambiguation contest, on Saturday, November 23 (UTC). I will personally give a $20 Amazon.com gift card to the disambiguator who fixes the most links on that server-day (see the project page for details on scoring points). Since we are not geared up to do an automated count for that day, at 00:00, 23 November 2013 (UTC) (which is 7:00 PM on November 22, EST), I'll take a screenshot of the project page leaderboard. I will presume that anyone who is not already listed on the leaderboard has precisely nine edits. At 01:00, 24 November 2013 (UTC) (8:00 PM on November 23, EST), I'll take a screenshot of the leaderboard at that time (the extra hour is to give the board time to update), and I will determine from that who our winner is. I will credit links fixed by turning a WP:DABCONCEPT page into an article, but you'll have to let me know me that you did so. Here's to a fun contest. Note that according to the Daily Disambig, we currently have under 256,000 disambiguation links to be fixed. If everyone in the disambiguation link fixers category were to fix 500 links, we would have them all done - so aim high! Cheers! bd2412 T 02:10, 18 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
