Conflict of interest editing
[edit]It is extremely important that you do not remove the copyright review request from David E. Constable. Also, please review WP:COI and WP:PAID and edit accordingly. Thank you, -- Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 23:20, 17 May 2020 (UTC)

[edit]Hello CWaters2067. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat SEO.
Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:CWaters2067. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=CWaters2067|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Praxidicae (talk) 23:28, 17 May 2020 (UTC)
Hi Prax. I am not being directly or indirectly compensated for my edits. I am trying to keep this site factual. If you look at the history and the links, you will see that it was spot on up until a couple of weeks ago. It has now been totally decimated. If it cannot be put back to how it was, please advise how it can be permanently deleted. Very frustrating indeed. Best regards, CW CWaters2067 (talk) 04:45, 18 May 2020 (UTC)
- What is your connection to David E. Constable? – bradv🍁 05:05, 18 May 2020 (UTC)
Hi Bradv. One in the same. I would like my career accomplishments on Wikipedia to be reinstated including my current board and chair roles at ABB, Fluor, Rio Tinto and Cerberus. In addition, the performance at Sasol during my tenure is important - best 2 financial years in the history of the company. How can editors come into my page 4 years after my departure from Sasol and delete factual statements? Hope you can help or at least give a fellow Canadian some good editing advice. - If you are the subject of the article, then you definitely have a conflict of interest. We have a guideline on how to handle articles about yourself at WP:AUTOBIO. Please read through that carefully, and make any further proposals for changes to the article at Talk:David E. Constable rather than editing the article directly. You can use the
{{edit request}}
template for that purpose. Please note that most of the additions you have already made were reverted as copyright violations or because they did not meet the sourcing requirements for biographies of living persons. Any further changes you want to make must be supported by references to reliable sources, e.g. newspapers, magazines, or books that are independent of you or your organization. – bradv🍁 15:38, 18 May 2020 (UTC)
