Unblock request[edit]

The user sent a request to the Unblock mailing list. For ease of review, I am reposting his email here, with the user's permission. --Deathphoenix ʕ 14:27, 6 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

With all due respect, I created two articles the other day which were serious in nature. One concerned the afternoon-drive host of a sports radio station in Chicago, Terry Boers. The other concerned a legendary message board poster/radio station caller who went by the moniker (and I'm not making this up) Anusface AKA Penisbreath. If you have a page for Bansky (which you do), including a page for Anusface AKA Penisbreath shouldn't be a problem.

There were no personal attacks made in either article. The Boers article took a direct quote from his show (about Bruce Villanch), and mentioned Boers' nickname, Larry Horse (which was added by somebody else). I also made mention of a noise Boers makes (daily) - sort of a long "EEEEEE" which the station actually uses in promos. How is this a personal attack?

AFAKAPB - Here's the link to one of his profiles [1]. He's done some other things besides (is he "worthy" of a page? That's not for me to decide). I mentioned he was a University of Chicago student (which he openly professed) and took a few of his direct quotes. Once again, no "personal attack."

Finally, I had alerted others about these pages to get them working on updates and attributions. There was nothing libellous, slanderous or along the lines of a "personal attack." Thus I am puzzled as to how this warranted an "infinite" ban.

I have not heard from the clown, which is why I am pursuing this next step.

Hello. I have unblocked your account in good faith. One of the articles you posted, Anusface AKA Penisbreath, was deleted because the article was not written in an encyclopedic tone, did not appear to be notable, relied on unreliable sources, and lastly, had the outward appearance of being an attack page.
Going forward, please review our Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons policy, as well as Wikipedia:Verifiability, Wikipedia:Reliable sources, and Wikipedia:Citing sources. Internet forums and the like generally do not meet our standards for verifiability, so please bare these basic policies and guidelines in mind when writing biographical content in the future. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me on my talk page or by email. Thanks, Can't sleep, clown will eat me 16:18, 6 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hi C Howitt, welcome back, but looking at the article (and the name of the article), I can certainly understand why CSCWEM blocked you indefinitely. Be very careful with the types of articles that you write. If you want to perform test edits, you are welcome to at Wikipedia:Sandbox, but if you continue writing articles like the one described above, along with the Anusface image, you will certainly be blocked again, and the next time, your unblock request will likely be rejected. --Deathphoenix ʕ 17:08, 6 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
