Hello Calderonjane. Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions!

I'm PrairieKid, one of the other editors here, and I hope you decide to stay and help contribute to this amazing repository of knowledge.

Some common sense Dos and Don'ts:
  Do be bold
  Do assume good faith
  Do be civil
  Do keep cool!
Do maintain a neutral point of view
  Don't spam
  Don't infringe copyright
Don't edit where you have a conflict of interest
  Don't commit vandalism

If you need further help, you can:
  Ask a question
or you can:
  Get help at the Teahouse
or even:
Ask an experienced editor to "adopt" you

Alternatively, leave me a message at my talk page or type {{helpme}} here on your talk page and someone will try to help.

There are many ways you can contribute to Wikipedia. Here are a few ideas:
  Fight vandalism
Be a WikiFairy or a WikiGnome
  Help contribute to articles
  Perform maintenance tasks

Become a member of a project that interests you
  Help design new templates
Subscribe and contribute to The Signpost

To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. You can create your own personal sandbox for use any time. It's perfect for working on bigger projects. Then for easy access in the future, you can put {{My sandbox}} on your user page. By the way, seeing as you haven't created a user page yet, simply click here to start it.

Please remember to:

  • Always sign your posts on talk pages. You can do this either by clicking on the button on the edit toolbar or by typing four tildes ~~~~ at the end of your post. This will automatically insert your signature, a link to your talk page, and a timestamp.
  • Leave descriptive edit summaries for your edits. Doing so helps other editors understand what changes you have made and why you made them.
The best way to learn about something is to experience it. Explore, learn, contribute, and don't forget to have some fun!

File permission problem with File:Elissa Silverman, official campaign photo, 2014.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Elissa Silverman, official campaign photo, 2014.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ronhjones  (Talk) 17:32, 30 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Your submission at Articles for creation: Markus Batchelor (March 6)

[edit]
Your recent article submission has been rejected. If you have further questions, you can ask at the Articles for creation help desk or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help. The reason left by Otr500 was: This topic is not sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia. The comment the reviewer left was: While I am glad we have editors creating articles that push the envelope there are a couple of reasons I must decline this article. This is a WP:BLP: #1)- There is not enough evidence of other notability factors, such as "the person who is the topic of a biographical article should be "worthy of notice" or "note"—that is, "remarkable" or "significant, interesting, or unusual enough to deserve attention or to be recorded", #2)- the vice president (or even president) of a school board is just not inherently notable. #3)- Being "the youngest person ever elected to oversee public education" in an area, while nice trivia, just does not add a level to basic notability. See: WP:POLITICIAN and WP:POLOUTCOMES. Otr500 (talk) 02:21, 6 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Invite to participate in research and earn $15

[edit]

Hi Calderonjane,

Welcome to the Wikipedia community!

It looks like you’ve been editing here for about a month now. Did you know that Artificial Intelligences (AIs) support Wikipedia? I’m personally contacting a small handful of new Wikipedia editors to make sure your voice is heard as we build and refine these AIs.

Will you please provide an interview to share your thoughts about AI on Wikipedia? You don’t need any special knowledge on the topic going into the interview. It will only take about 30 minutes over phone or video chat. We will send you a $15 Amazon gift card as a way to thank you for your time.

I am working in collaboration with Wikimedia Foundation staff to do this research, so if you decide to participate, your opinion could help build the future of Wikipedia. Hope to talk to you soon!

PS. You can learn more about our study here.

April 2019

Information icon Please don't change the format of dates, as you did to Greta Thunberg. As a general rule, if an article has evolved using predominantly one format, the dates should be left in the format they were originally written in, unless there are reasons for changing it based on strong national ties to the topic. Please also note that Wikipedia does not use ordinal suffixes (e.g., st, nd, th), articles, or leading zeros on dates.

For more information about how dates should be written on Wikipedia, please see this page.

If you have any questions about this, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Enjoy your time on Wikipedia. Thank you. Schwede66 21:34, 26 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:Carolyn Stanford Taylor

[edit]

Hello, Calderonjane. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Carolyn Stanford Taylor".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Rollidan (talk) 20:38, 17 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:Markus Batchelor, a page you created, has not been edited in 5 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 00:10, 20 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
