Welcome![edit]

Hello, CalebPhelps99, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Shalor and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Non-free rationale for File:Silver Lining.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Silver Lining.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Also:

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:00, 7 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Images[edit]

Hi, I received notification that you have been uploading images from copyrighted games. I would like for you to stop uploading images for the time being and to take this training module on uploading images and media to Wikipedia.

The issue here is that since the game is copyrighted, we cannot upload images to Wikipedia except in very, very specific circumstances. For example, we can only upload one copy of the box cover art and the only place this can be located is in the infobox for the game. When it comes to images of the game, Wikipedia's fair use guidelines can only cover one image from the game and even then, that's extremely limited. There's already an image/video of the game, so we can't add any more images to Wikipedia. To quote Marchjuly,

in an article about a video game, one non-free image of the product packaging is generally allowed for primary identification purposes and then one in-game screenshot is generally allowed for representative purposes in the gameplay section; any thing beyond that becomes much harder to justify and almost always requires some specific sourced critical commentary about the screenshot for it to meet WP:NFC#CS usually because of some technical/controversial aspect about it that received covered in reliable sources. Non-free screenshots are not really going to be accepted just to "show" plot points or certain features, especially redundant screenshots.

If you were looking to add a screenshot to an article on another game that doesn't have one that may be OK, however you would absolutely have to make sure that you upload the file with the correct information and permissions. You also cannot use any of these images in your sandbox. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 15:53, 8 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
